Vibration Isolation Feet for Air Compressor?

It would be much easier I think to isolate the compressor from the tank rather than the tank from the floor. Tanks can act like a bell too so this would in theory be quieter overall. This is how most of the "ultra quiet" compressors are done these days

Screw/hardware organizers that won't bankrupt me?

I have used Sterilite divided cases for hardware and other small items for a while now. I got them initially because they fit these steel office mail cubbies I got for free. I really haven't found anything else that works as well for anywhere close to the price. Home Depot has 6 and 12 packs...

    3d printer software

Solid Edge from Siemens has a free makers version for non-commercial uses. I haven't tried it yet, but it probably will soon. I have used their commercial products for work for close to 20 years. I would hope for a near non-existent learning curve. Solid Works from DSS also offers a makers...

The Wait: a 30X40 Residential Detached Build

The building got it's first snow! That doesn't happen too often in our area. It's been maybe four years since last time it stuck. The insulation does fairly well. I was able to maintain mid 50s with two space heaters while outside was in the 20s for several days. I've been busy with the...

Utility Sink Location in New Garage

Proximity to the man door was one of my priorities too when placing mine. I ended up putting it about 6 feet away on the same wall as the door, but looks like that would not work as well in your case. Another thing that may be a factor- it was in my case is the location of the water supply and...

    Question on Jack Stand Placement

Not all, but many vehicles have center jack points front and rear. This is what I typically use to get a stand at each corner. For the ones that don't have that provision, usually the frame/sub-frame at or near where it is bolted to the body is a sturdy spot for the jack. Still best to proceed...

The Wait: a 30X40 Residential Detached Build

Thanks! The inside is still a work in progress as I find a place for everything and then put it there. I'll have some more photos to share in the next few weeks.

Garage Build In Lexington South Carolina

I'm very pleased with the results, the neighbors seem to be also from the number of compliments I've had on it. 30x40x12 with an 8x40 lean-to/porch. It was about the biggest our lot and finances would allow. I mentioned Hoover as they were the one I had experience with, but yes they are pole...

Garage Build In Lexington South Carolina

I'm in Lexington county also. I used Hoover for my building. We're in an established sub-division but without HOA restrictions. If memory serves they asked for 15% when we signed the contract, 60% when construction started and the remaining balance when it passed inspection. They were in the...

I updated the link, it looks like it working now.

    lift positioning

While the way you use it and your personal preferences are going to factor into the ideal placement of the lift, most manufacturers do publish clearance diagrams or specs which will narrow down the possibilities some. see sheets 2 and 3 here for the model you are planning on. I added in my...

    Sealing limestone steps

You may find more feedback and expertise in the flooring section. Similar to what I used, Ghostshield has a penetrating sealer usually used for concrete, but does mention natural stone in the application list. siloxa-tek 8500. It works really well and because it's "soaking in" rather than...

What kind of lift do I need?

Balance the weight of the lifted part so the lifting actuator doesn't have to do much work. probably the easiest way to do this is with gas springs/struts. In fact if the total force from the gas struts is slightly higher than the weight of the TV and lifted support structure you won't need an...

Lift installation recommendations in Northern Michigan / Traverse City

clarify they are sending the "truck adapter extension kit". that's the storage brackets, four of the 3" extenders, two of the 6" extenders and the truck frame "adapter" feet that replace the white nylon plate type that come with the lift. I got the "round rubber adapters" instead of the truck...

Lift installation recommendations in Northern Michigan / Traverse City

Is the stack adapter kit included in that $8200? if not, don't forget to add it on. My materials for the electrical part of it were about $100, but I did place mine about 6ft from the panel so it was only about 25ft of wire to run up to the truss and back down. It's not too dissimilar from...
