Very sad story. Could have been prevented so many ways if one party or another would have just paused for a second. No bond beam and rebar supports into the foundation? Really bad design foundation, imho. I am glad you lawyered up as ultimately it is the only way it is going to be solved. People...
Not they would allow this usually here but this is how its done north of us. Btw, your inspector will fail the grass under there as well. No organic material!
Btw, the way they did it there is frost protected shallow foundation but picture yours without the foam.
The problem I see with a pole barn is its not winterized for your area and you may end up spending more to install inner walls and insulation than if you started stick in the first place. Also, if you ever go to sell, the stick is worth MUCH more in the minds of a buyer.
Does your area have a rat wall rule? I am a bit north of you and I am not sure this would be allowed to do because of the 18" rat wall and has to be under 500 sq ft to not use 4' frost. Otherwise I would use this method in a heartbeat! Awesome!
They had a nice deal on a 28 piece impact 1/2 driver set but it was missing so many sizes I had to pass on it. $29 tho! http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/mastercraft-maximum-28-piece-impact-set-0589290p.html#.U1sM0vldV8E
I mean no 14mm and 21mm? Sheesh I use those the most.
A 2005 Kia Sedona with 50K miles on it. So far put $4000 into fixing it and still not done. In the shop, a cheap 12V cordless. Bought a Ridgid instead that had lifetime on battery for not much more.
Rodm1, not all lawyer's will recommend a survey when purchasing (a good one will, yes). The reason is the title insurance is $170 and survey is $700 here. But what they do not tell you is your policy is basically everything that is NOT covered by title insurance and the biggest is fenceline...
1jjpop, I used to work for a title insurance company and saw stories like that all the time. Had a lady that made a guy tear down his garage wall because it was one brick width (3 1/4) onto her property. Had another tear down their neighbour's porch in the middle of the night. This is not a...
It is to build a 26X24 shop/garage so we need to submit site plan. There is I assume irons because I have the R-Plan that shows the size and depth of the irons as surveyed in 1989. I know from the neighbours our house was the only one that underwent renos at that date. He thinks he knows where...
