I am in the process of building a shelf set up for my wife's stained glass collection/storage. I opted for Unistrut for the project. It's the heavier bigger channel they sell at Lowes. it's advertised as 12 gauge 1 5/8" galvanized channel. Here's a link to it...
Okay sounds like that’s the package. I see they have like 5 types of 10-30 so I just bought the regular 10-30 rather than the stuff for high mileage cars etc. I’ll put it in and let er rip. Thanks guys for your input. Truly appreciate it.
I just swapped a family member air compressors and I’m doing some maintenance on it. The oil has never been changed in it so I figured I’d do that, change the air filter, pretty light stuff. I downloaded the manual for it and it’s saying to put 10-30 Mobile 1 in it. It’s a 6hp 60 gallon unit. I...
Pics would be great! The LVL or a steel beam is what I had in mind also. It would have to be ran from the front to back of the garage in my case. That would be perpendicular to the existing trusses.
That sounds super reasonable. Is your roof open or sheet rocked? I called an engineer guy I know just to see what he says. At first he said just do it and don’t worry about it. Then after he thought about it for a minute he said let me think about it and to send him some pictures. I’ll see what...
Now that’s what I’m talking about. I’m thinking maybe two I beams running the length of the garage. Or width. Just bypass the whole bottom chord completely. Unless there’s a way strengthen that bottom chord I don’t really see any other way. Wish you had some pics of it.
I have an attached garage that I would like to use the attic to store some car parts for a Mustang I am restoring. The roof has trusses. I’ve read that they really aren’t made to hold any sort of weight at all. Is this true? And if so what’s a solution to beef them up or bypass them altogether...
The initial estimate says 4" of concrete. And I guess they do some sort of provision for electrical(pvc tube it says). Insulation wise it says R19.
Would 12" eaves be tall enough for the lift? 12 foot to the bottom of the trusses.
And does 26500.00 sound reasonable? Or could I buy one of these...
Hello all I'm a new guy to the forum and I have been shopping for a shop/garage/pole barn. I have few general questions. The place I've somewhat settled on to put up the building has quoted 26500.00 for a 30' deep x 40' wide pole barn(metal building). That's two garage doors, 12 foot eaves, a...
