Mine were back filled with crusher run, same as the back fill to grade for the concrete. Tamped well.

    Running Compressor Lines

When a PVC pipe with 140 lbs of water pressure ruptures you get wet because water is essentially non compressible. When a PVC pipe with air or gas which is readily compressible in it ruptures it can fracture into large shards which have been known to maim or blind folks in the vicinity. Many...

    Recommend a Concrete Sealer

Kennel seal, you can order it from Home Depot, I just covered a 12.5x30 ft slab for my kennel and so far so good.

concrete floor and girt board height

Essentially exactly how I did it, it worked out well, except that a 2 in screw in the flat of the metal wouldn't pull down tight on the bottom run, never did solve that mystery, tried to insert a winking smiley and couldn't.

    Kill fire ants!!

Amdro, works well, only takes about 3 tbsp per mound. Takes about a week or so. My dad is 71 and almost had a nervous breakdown waiting on the mounds to die, apparently he was under the impression that he could sprinkle it on and the ants would instantly die and burst into flames. We were riding...

Best grass killer before laying gravel down?

If you wish to control weeds before and after you put your gravel down then use Pramitol 25E. Bear in mind that NOTHING will grow where you spray this for a year or more, also if you spray and there is runoff nothing will grow where it runs off for a year or more. The only way to fix a mistake...

Recomend a exterior flood light for my application

Techno Earth F50K 90-240V 120-Degree Beam Angle Landscape Outdoor Waterproof 50W LED Flood Light Lamp, Cool White by Techno Earth. I purchased this light to light the front area of my shop, it is bright and lights a large area. It is a cool white light, almost a bluish tint but works very well...

    Used oil containers?

If there is a construction company that uses heavy equipment or a logging company near you ask about the 5 gal buckets that hydraulic oil comes in. These have a spout and I have several that I use for waste oil, when I get 2 filled up, I take them to a local parts store and dump in their waste...

    Air compressor location

My recommendation is outside the shop with a flexible connection to the air line. Mine is on a concrete pad under a shed behind the shop. You have to pay attention to hear it, if the radio is on you very nearly cannot hear it.

placement of outlets in metal building

I placed mine 4 ft up the wall and 10 ft apart. I placed a double outlet on each end of the work bench and an outlet on each side of rollup door. I didn't want to have to bend over to plug in a cord. If I had it to do over I would do it exactly the same way, it worked better than I had hoped.

    Ridgid 12v Impact Driver

I have the Rigid impact. It was a set that Home Depot had available at Christmas with the 12v drill, 2 batteries and charger with case. I have been very pleased using it on dirt bikes and atvs, granted it is not going to break larger nuts and bolts loose. I will normally break them loose with a...

    30 amps X 600 feet

It is approx the same distance to the end of my driveway from the house and I considered running power there several years ago. I decided the cost vs benefit was not worth it to me.

    30 amps X 600 feet

I was surprised also, what does it require for 30 amp 120 volt for 600 ft with less than 3% voltage drop with the calculator you used?

    30 amps X 600 feet

1 conductors per phase utilizing a #3/0 Copper conductor will limit the voltage drop to 2.63% or less when supplying 30.0 amps for 600 feet on a 120 volt system. http://www.southwire.com/support/voltage-drop-calculator.htm. I ran your requirement through this calculator with the result listed...
