So, new rancher house with a concrete basement floor. Basement is prolly >\ 1500 sq ft.

Concrete was poured about 9 mos ago. The issue I'm having is my cat throws up in the basement and it stains the concrete.

I'm not looking for anything to aesthetically add to the concrete - just something that will make this easier to clean up. Even after scrubbing concrete with a wire brush and alkali APC - stains remain.

I think I found a product to remove the stains - but I want to put something down to prevent them in the future.

Something easy...Not interested in epoxy flooring. It seems a lot of the concrete sealers are basically "clean and spray".

I was looking at Quickcrete water based concrete sealer. It says it holds up to oil/gas - and reviews seem generally good. It also seems easy to touch up - or re-apply.

Any experience?

Kennel seal, you can order it from Home Depot, I just covered a 12.5x30 ft slab for my kennel and so far so good.

Pet liquids (vomit, urine, ****** excretion, feces) are extremely aggressive and very tough on coatings. Because of this, I would recommend a topical product that isolates the concrete from direct contact with these liquids/solids.

Urethane over epoxy or polyurea... these are where I would start. Anything less will be a constant struggle for you.

Visit a real kennel and you will see the coatings I mentioned, none of which came from Home D... or Lowe...

Good luck.

It doesn't sound as if he wants to 'get rid' of the cat. To the OP ...maybe look into a diet change. Is it food or hair ball...?
