Why is a standard set of annular cutters comprised of such weird sizes?

The main use of mag drills was/is in the structural steel field, putting up buildings, etc. The sizes you listed are for clearance holes of common sizes of bolts. However, just about any size is available, maybe not as a set though. S

    Show your extra long screwdrivers...

I made one for my Snap-On ratchetting handle. I cut a removable shank in half and extended it with a piece of stainless rod and TIG welded it

    KRL722 Restoration

Hey guys, reviving my old thread here. I forgot to post an update. Here are some pictures. It will never be perfect, there is some warpage from the heat of the fire but it is fully functional and it was a fun project to restore it. Sent from my iPhone using Garage Journal

How do you cut steel in your shop

Got a few options to pick from in the shop, a horizontal bandsaw, oxy torches and a 50t ironworker. But we run into a lot of awkward situation where the only access is with a grinder 5” or 7”, like mesh or expanded metal for fencing, or hardened materials. For field work we have portabands...

    What is this tool??

Yup, that’s an elevator door key that works on a lot of different brands of elevators. It allows access to the elevator cab in case of an emergency. Be extremely careful (actually I recommend not using it at all) as you can easily open a door into an empty hoistway if the elevator car is above...

Roll pin punch set, please advise on purchase

I've had success with the Mayhew or Williams pilot pin punches (Looks like they come out of the same factory). They have a dimple on the end to fit the center of the roll pins. It prevents damage to the hole and helps if you have to drive in a pin in a tight spot. Edit: Just looked at that...

    1-1/2" drive torque wrench

I will definitely look into that. I don’t have a use for it myself, but it might be of interest to someone if it’s functional. The replacement model is listed on snap-one’s website and the design has barely changed. Sent from my iPhone using Garage Journal

    1-1/2" drive torque wrench

I think I got my hands on something that will make the Snap-On enthusiasts happy... A 3000 ft-lbs 1-1/2" drive Torq-O-Meter. Unfortunately it looks like the needle fell off the stem. But it is a cool tool for sure! I would also be interested in any inputs you may have about how old it is, etc..

    Repair Blue Point AT750

I have a 3/4” Blue Point impact wrench model AT750. It needs a new trigger. Snap On still has parts for these, but not the trigger assembly(discontinued). Are there clones of these or other brands/models I could get parts for?

Green/Orange 46” Mobile Workbench Home Depot - Husky?

I don’t know where they found those, because International went out of business a few months ago. I feel like these must be limited old stock. S Sent from my iPhone using The Garage Journal mobile app

    Best maintenance tool bag?

I am in the elevator trade as well. I use a square leather tool pouch, made by Ideal I believe. https://www.idealindustries.ca/products/35-325.html CLC also makes one very similar that is cheaper. The Ideal one is not cheap, but mine is going on 10 years, and it still keeps its shape. I have...

Did you try getting a quote from Rousseau? They make high quality boxes, and the you can customize them as needed. Last I checked the prices were way less than truck prices for a similar quality product. S Sent from my iPad using The Garage Journal mobile app
