    Dannmar maxjax lift

FYI - If you have Amazon prime the pd-58 wedge anchors are cheap - <$20 for a set of 5 with free shipping.

i want to weld in my small building, will tile work?

One less expensive solution could be to put down hardiebacker or hardieboard tile backing board panels on the floor? They are made of concrete and designed as a backing for tile, but could potentially be used for this... You could possibly even use them as a removable solution so you don't...

    Mr Heater install

I don't use anything less that 12/2 anymore, but if that meets the requirements, then it seems fine. Looks like you are missing a vent pipe... :)

Mr Heater 50k Need some advise

Cochise, Here's what I did - I bought a Rigid 00R hand threader and the right size Rigid 00R die for 3/4" NPT, plus a no-name pipe cutter (Tekton). That way I could measure every piece to exact length and be confident in the threads. I already had a vice with pipe jaws. I went slow, used...

Best garage in a box type non permanent

I had good luck using one I bought from FarmTek before I had a garage. It was reasonably priced and worked fine. My father has had one of theirs for years as a storage area and he's been happy with it too.

Mr. Heater Big Maxx 80,000 - Horizontal Vent

I used 4" single wall z-flex z-vent category iii from pex supply on my 50K big maxx for horizontal venting.

    Lifts in Tight Spaces

The only complaint I have is making it hard to get around the vehicle if it is too close to something. One of my anchor positions for my maxjax is right up against a shelf and when a car is on the lift I either need to go around the long way or under the car. Not a show stopper, but kind of a...

    DIY Uline style industrial shelving?

Looks pretty reasonable, although if you are patient, you might get lucky on craigslist. I bought a bunch of those exact same racks off craigslist from a delivery place that was upsizing to larger pallet racks (24x36x72 tall with five shelves per rack - $25 each).

Recommendations for cutting steel unitrut please

Quick update. Hacksaw worked, but a guy at work let me borrow his Milwaukee Porta-Band. That tool made quick work of both the unistrut and threaded rods. Wish I could justify having one of those in my garage permanently!

    Max Jax Anchor Installation

This set went in a lot easier than the last one. I cut off one end of a 15/16 combination wrench and used a ~3' pipe (was actually a pipe that came with a Fisher Minute Mount plow that I used to own, makes a great cheater bar). I also hit the threads of the install tools with a tiny bit of...

    Dannmar maxjax lift

You can get a brand new one on a group buy or even from costco under $2K at times - with whatever warranty the manufacturer offers. As a point of reference, I got my max jax used, in like new condition, for about half of new and it came with a new set of anchors.

Questions for the experts as I start the build

I'm not a concrete guy, but I'll parrot what concrete guys have told me. Concrete slabs WILL crack, control joints let you decide where they will crack. Again, I am not a professional. If it was me, I'd have the control joints cut.

    Retractable Paint Booth

I'm just making stuff up, but you could use PVC pipe, or if it is less permanent, what about using those cardboard rolls they have inside carpets at the carpet store.

Garage Ceiling Height: Chain Fall and/or Lift

Don't know about builders, but I've built two houses and two garages myself and I can tell you that the additional materials and time add up when you go taller. Anything that can be done with 4'x8' standard materials with little or no cutting from ground level is going to be quicker and easier...

Garage Ceiling Height: Chain Fall and/or Lift

The front legs on mine (since sold) were removable and stored in a vertical position. It really didn't take up that much space. I was mostly using it in an 18'x20' ish garage so I didn't have a lot of space to spare. I'd buy another in a heartbeat though.
