for the amount of money you're looking to spend you're going to be settling for a machine with a budget pump. i don't think the honda's have a small hp engine with elec start. you could get a good electric p/w for a little bit more than what you mentioned. components matter

check to see if you have any shops in your area that does maintenance on pressure washers. will always have new/used accessories. check craigslist.

in the first post you mentioned that your problems started when trying to use the soap function. this might be a stupid question but are you using the soap nozzle? usually the black tip.

i have a few wizard/w. auto pieces lying about, this is the only thing handy.

i don't know a lot about the kohler engine and not sure who might of made the pump? for the price i would go with a honda GX washer.
