    Epoxy Kit: Need your opinions

You will get a coverage of 200-250 SF/gallon used as a primer, depending on how rough the surface is. The second coat will go 250 -275 SF/gallon. So you could either get another water based primer and go with one coat or get 2 additional kits and 2 coats. I would go with 2 coats of Supercoat...

    Epoxy Kit: Need your opinions

I have used this product and is very easy to work with. For best results, use 2 coats, one as a primer and other as the base coat. I would definitely recommend a clear top coat. Many good reasons to use a clear protective coat. As with most epoxies, beware of UV issues, if you have too much...

    Garage floor prep

From what I have been told, one could clean and sand lightly the old epoxy and go over it with the new epoxy. This applies to like materials (like epoxy on epoxy, or urethane on urethane). The key is to be clean, dust free and a sanded or scuffed surface.

    Floor prep before coating?

The first step should be to take care of the oil stain with a good degreaser. Then, you could rent a concrete floor grinder and get the the old paint out and get the entire surface roughened up. Any epoxy or any other coating that you pick would have a good chance of adhering and its life is...

VCT Installation in Large Shop - Advice Needed

Your ideas are good. A good cleaning with a a some grindng may be good. However, I am nor sure if VCT needs the surface to be rough. Another option: Have you considered concrete polishing. I have noticed some polished and colored floors lately that were not too expensive. They do not have...

    Home Depot Professional Installation Feedback

Just to clear up: STF buys their chips from the same place everybody else buys in bulk. There are a couple of places in US that I know of. (There may be one in Canada?) No need for red flags! Also, STF does install Rustoleum epoxy products. It may be that in some areas, they have not...

    office logo

Hi Cars You can clear coat over a vinyl logo but you have to make sure the clear coat is solvent free and does not react with the logo material. If the clear coat affects the logo material, then you must first coat the logo with a solvent free coating and then coat the whole floor. I think it...

    Battle of the Floor Coatings

Another option would be a DYI product by www.Citadelfloors.com. They also have products that professionally installed. I do not know how the pricing compares with the other coatings mentioned.

Acrylics or Solvent based, 100% solvents or ? I'm Putting my $$ where my MOUTH is!

This thread has been amusing ( like 10x abrasion resistant) and fascinating. Water based 1 part acrylic may be cheap or quicker to dry, but the true test is how long does it last. We may not know that for some time. Good luck to the winner. Test results for abrasion, gloss, flexibilty...

    Home Depot Professional Installation Feedback

As a HD floor coatings installer, I am amazed at how much disinformation exists in this thread. Firstly, we are not "painters". Some of the installers in some markets may also be painters also, which means that they are a big enough company to do a variety of things. Secondly, all of us are...
