    Best Floor Dry?

Stupid question, but how do I know if its made of Diatomaceous Earth? Does it say on the bag? Is it white? The stuff I have is tan (clay) colored, and it seems like the stuff that worked well was always white..

    Best Floor Dry?

What's your favorite brand of floor-dry? I bought some at Menards and it doesn't seem like it does much at all. Anytime I have any sort of oil spill, I dump it on immediately, and still end up with a big oil spot on the floor - whether I step on it and work it in, or just leave it to soak...

    Insulating and vapor barriers.

My shop has a metal ceiling, vapor barrier between it and the insulation, and then 16" fiberglass insulation blown in on top of it. I asked the lumberyard about cellulose and they told me that they usually do fiberglass in shops. I assume its because of the weight? I know the deadload rating...

    Icon vs Tekton combination wrenches

I actually bought a set of the Icon anti-slip wrenches, but will be returning them and getting a set of regular combination wrenches.. I'm a little concerned about how badly the anti-slip teeth will chew up fasteners if I'm using them as my day-to-day wrenches. Standard 1/4-1" Icons are about...

    Icon vs Tekton combination wrenches

Yep! Been here off and on for a while, mostly discussing information pertaining to my shop build a couple years ago, but now my recent wrench dilemma has me here asking questions again.. I thought I had my life all figured out until I bought a bigger toolbox and needed to start filling in some...

    Icon vs Tekton combination wrenches

I know, another one of these threads… but I haven’t seen one that’s newer than a couple years old, so I wanted to see if there are any new opinions. In reading the old threads on this site, it seems like tekton had a pretty large following, and get very good reviews on sites like Amazon. But...

Why is this socket like this?

That's actually what I did (although its pretty ugly now), but then I got to wondering why its the only socket in the entire set that has a smaller diameter hole than the rest. I thought maybe that was the size where they switched to a smaller hole, but that theory was proven wrong when the...

US General Series 3 vs 2?

Series 2 are no longer being produced, so they are available just until they're gone. No 44" or 56" series 3 boxes have been released yet (only 72s). I was told by a friend that works at HF that they won't release them until more of the 2s are cleared out - which is annoying because like I...

US General Series 3 vs 2?

The problem is I think they have to be there at the store for you to get that price. The yellow shows "back in stock soon" for me rather than "order in store for pickup". I went to a HF last week wanting to order the black series 2 and could order the bottom to be shipped to the store, but the...

Why is this socket like this?

1/2" drive Craftsman easy-read 6pt sockets that I bought years ago as a full set.. These three sockets are 7/8", 15/16", and 1".. why is the hole in the 15/16" smaller than the other two? Its the only socket in the whole set that is that way, and it doesn't fit on my peg-style socket tray.

US General Series 3 vs 2?

What do you like better about the 2?

US General Series 3 vs 2?

The 56" series 2 doesn't have any full width drawers - the wide drawers on the bottom are all 37" wide (inside), which is my only hang-up on buying that box. The 72" has a 52" wide drawer on the bottom, which was added to the new 56" boxes - two of them, which would be awesome for sockets and...

US General Series 3 vs 2?

Now that the series 3 has been out for a month or two, has anyone had a chance to compare them to the series 2? Looking at getting a new 56" box, and from the one photo I've found online, I think I like the drawer layout on the 3 better, but I'm a little concerned with the weight difference on...

    Air Compressor Size?

Thank you guys for all the replies! I think I'll go ahead with the smaller one.. I just have no frame of reference what 5cfm is vs 7 or 8, which is basically why I asked my question. I have a 6 gallon pancake that I've used for nail guns and stuff for years, but it irritates me having to plug...

    Air Compressor Size?

I am needing an air compressor for my shop, and I'm unsure of my size needs. Most of my tools are cordless so the majority of my compressor usage will be airing up tires on vehicles/utvs/mower, and blowing off my lawnmower, radiators, etc.. I'm (currently) torn between two - One is a 30-gallon...
