    Tools of Japan

I agree with @Dave455 My own thoughts: Vessel makes a clear handled ratcheting screwdriver with the bit magazine inside the handle. This is the best ratcheting screwdriver I have ever used. I own the Facom ratcheting screwdriver pictured. It’s a work of art to behold but it is BIG. I...

It is important to note that Facom invented the NANO cased maintenance sets. I own all of them and they are exceptionally useful, especially as an owner of European manufactured vehicles with metric fasteners. The CASE is as essential as the tools. It holds all of the bits tightly and they do...

Pros/cons of French-style "clés à pipes" socket wrenches

I am surprised that @Dave455 has not chimed in! Keep in mind, at one point, 50-odd years ago, ratchets were not as common as they are now and they were expensive! The clés à pipes were a clever and cost effective solution at a time when ratchets were an expensive luxury to tradesmen.

Lets see your Tool Carts/Service Carts

I have 3 or 4 of these. They were made circa mid 80s to late 90s. There will be a 2-digit date code on the back of one of the 3 shelfs which will give you insight as to what year it was made.

1/2 ratchets, flex head, snap on/gearwrench etc?

I think you are foolish if you do not look at the new G2 ratchets by Icon. I just got to handle a few at HF and they are very, very nice. I am willing to wager that they are made by the same Taiwan factory that Facom uses for their Expert line (distributed by MAC in the U.S.). I was truly...

I reported this post due to the link included and the fact that two members thus far appear to have been taken advantage of. In my opinion, links to fraudulent online sellers should be removed because of the financial risk posed to members, many of whom are of advanced age, and without the full...

We should caution other members about the inherent risk in ordering, then…….. For those after a deal who do not carefully read, they have just been exposed to financial risk. Not good.

Was this the link to the fraudulent seller in Iceland, selling at a price too good to be true??

It’s a really poor and inefficient format and the photos end up getting lost to time…my way, you know what is being discussed and who made it.

@Ryan Please see above posts. Can we please implement for this thread 1) Photo 2) Manufacturer 3) What kind of tool it is / what it does 4) Part number Thank you in advance. I think this would help many members and is a more useful format.

    Snap On ratchet handle preference?

Is there a size or dimensional difference between the black hard handle and the orange hard handle in the picture ?
