    Above 1200 Sq/FT Bald is Beautiful - 7k sq feet+ of Gruntledness

Ahh the memories!!! Dad had a 78 that he bought new, rolled in 81 and parked until I came along, looking to fix it up. Same mustard yellow color and everything! Loved that beast. Had to get a new hard top and doors, clutch, hubs, rings, valves/seals. Ran really well when I finally got done with...

    Craftsman Industrial doesn't fit?

Wait a minute, here's the real kicker: on the 1/2 wrench, the nut fits the closed end but not the open end. Its so close!!! I'll just give the number a call and ask them about it. Thanks again guys for all the help!

    Craftsman Industrial doesn't fit?

Well there you go. 1/2 and 13mm are the exact same!

    Craftsman Industrial doesn't fit?

Great thoughts here, thank you! Yeah for sure it was stamped 1/2 in since the S/K socket fit over it no problem. The wrong blank stamped wrong makes sense. I'll give that number a call. Well I did buy the wrenches on close-out and didn't pay a ton, but still, expected better for the money. If...

    Craftsman Industrial doesn't fit?

Hmmmm....mine are stamped 'USA' so I assumed high quality. The chrome sure looks good! Well, maybe I'll run over to Sears and see if I can swap this one out for another Industrial series wrench and see if it fits better. Kinda pissed actually! Spend a bunch of money on supposedly quality and a...

    Craftsman Industrial doesn't fit?

I bought a set of 11, SAE Crafstman Industrial wrenches on close-out from a Sears clearance center near me. I went to use the 1/2 wrench to tighten down a nut and it didn't fit - either the open or closed end :mad: My S/K 1/2 socket fit over the nut easily, so i know I wasn't trying to...

6 pt or 12 pt - help educate me!

Yes this has been a very informative discussion - I had no idea I was opening a can of worms. Sorry about that! I think I'll go 6 point on sockets and 12 points on wrenches. When using wrenches in tight spaces - 12 points mean you can get it on the nut in 30 degree increments, even more if...

6 pt or 12 pt - help educate me!

Okay, this may be a really fundamental question, but I'll ask anyway. What are the pros/cons of 6 pt vs 12 pt sockets and wrenches? Does it matter? Do one set have advantages over another? Thanks!

    SK sockets???

I'll try to get some pictures up. I called the SK customer service line to find out. The lady was very helpful and explained that the interior of the sockets are painted, like was mentioned above. She said if I had any concerns, to drop them off at the local dealer or send them in and they'll...

    SK sockets???

Sounds good. The chrome colored paint threw me off then. If its chromed inside and flaking, that would be a problem for me. If its paint inside and flaking, well I don't really care because that paint will wear itself out sooner or later. Once the paint is gone, is there a protective coating on...

    SK sockets???

I recently purchased a 1/4 drive ratchet and socket set. The chrome seems inconsistent on the inside surfaces of the sockets; in some instances not applied at all, flaking in others and fully plated in others. Is this normal? Should I warranty those sockets? Thanks
