If you still have the broken clock, replacing the battery powered movement would probably fix it. The replacement movements are not very expensive and I've replaced them in a couple of clocks we like that stopped working. You'll need to take the old movement out and measure the diameter and...

Yes, it's a hard decision to make and the grief is very bad, but I try to look at it as the last act of love we can give to them.

Our Yellow Lab, Winnie, also liked blackberries. I'm not sure she was as discriminating on the ripeness though.

Above 1200 Sq/FT My Retirement Shop, Pole Barns, Old Truck and Questionable Decisions Thread

My sisters and I were fortunate to get along well, so resolving issues in my parents' estate was not a problem. We lived on a farm my family bought in 1920 and you can imagine all of the 'stuff' farmers can accumulate by the time my mother passed in 2005. After we took the items we wanted, we...

We've used flannel sheets, but have found that we like the micro-fleece ones much better. YMMV

I've always used an X-Acto knife and blade with a very sharp point. The handle seems to be easier to control than a very small bit. The relief is instantaneous and wonderful. The quicker you drill, the better the relief.

I've been wanting a battery powered Chainsaw for a while and saw this offer from Ridgid with a 6Ah battery and charger for $30.00 over the cost of the bare tool. Ordered on Sunday and received Wednesday. Have not used it yet, but it looks and feels good. Much lighter than my Stihl MS280 or...

Making vise jaw pads from old copper pipe

Those copper jaw pads look great! I made some that are a simpler design for my Reed 2C that I posted in the vice repair thread. Great work on yours, Beerhippie!

You might want to check out Cutco scissors. They are heavy duty, come apart for cleaning, guaranteed for life, can be returned for service, and expensive ($141.00 currently). We've got several and never needed any service. They used to be demonstrated by cutting pennies and then cutting paper.

If you don't have her on a restraint, please consider doing so. We pitched our Lab out the window during a hard stop. The next purchase, after the vet visit (she was just scraped up), was a restraint for her. She was still able enjoy the wind and lay down on the seat.

How do you store your tools, hitches, & ratchet straps in your truck?

Been there, done that with my shin and my dad's drawbar. I went a while with the receiver with a metal cover in it. Got the cover off, but there was so much rust in the receiver, I had to sledgehammer the drawbar into the receiver a little at a time, then bang it out, spray more...

The only problem I see with this would be the drawbar rusts and becomes one with the receiver.
