    The radio in the AirportExpress is better than in a phone, tablet or laptop. It can connect to the house more reliably. Then, your user devices can connect to the unit in the garage. The 220VAC will cause inductance, basically like a magnetic field? Will wreak havoc on the ethernet signal...

    Sorry man but that data cable won't work. Electrically. Nor is it safe or to code... The AirportExpress can bridge to another AirportExpress. Have you tried that? Just doing it wireless?
