    Oiling Tools

Hello everyone, I don't live in a very humid climate, but I have noticed that a slight surface rust will appear on hammer heads, pliers, and even sockets after enough time. I recently purchased a new set of impact sockets that I am going to try to maintain well (along with all my tools). I...

    Stainless Steel Hardware

Hello everyone, I am working on a 30 year old vehicle that has been through a lot but generally seems to be in good order (California truck). I feel like replacing some of the hardware based on its condition and was wondering if its acceptable to use stainless steel hardware. To be clear, none...

I finally received my set of Proto wrenches. I have never had a set of what I consider "quality" wrenches, and this is my first Proto tool ever. They are metric anti slip design from 7mm - 22mm and a 24mm. I hope I like them.

    Your go-to ratchet

For sure my Snap On quick release dual 80 tooth ratchets. 3/8 is used most often. After spoiling myself with these, I just can't stand using others anymore. Ok, the 1/4 is a 72 tooth, but it still feels great to me.

    Snap on pliers

:rocker: for the 3 position slip joint pliers. They are the only Snap On pair of pliers I own and I use them all the time.

    Satin vs. Full Polish Wrenches

I really wasnt taking into consideration the resale value. I work maintenance and have mostly mid range tools and craftsman that my work place provides. Although when I notice myself using certain tools hard and things going missing around the shop at work by other employees I consider a...

    Satin vs. Full Polish Wrenches

Cool. Does the chrome chip very easily? Or as long as you don't take a torch, saw, or any crazy abuse should they hold up pretty well? Basically with regular use do they all end up failing?

    Satin vs. Full Polish Wrenches

So basically the benefits of non polished wrenches are that they don't slip out of the hand as easily? Is there a reason companies make the polished tools besides how they look? I wasn't looking for opinions as that turns into non productive conversation. I am considering wrench sets and was...

    Satin vs. Full Polish Wrenches

Hello, I just wanted to get an idea of what the pros and cons are of satin finish wrenches vs polished / chrome ones. I'm assuming the chrome / polished ones are easier to clean? But does the chrome chip off? Forgive me, I don't know much as I have only ever had Craftsman without the polished...

    Water trap for compressed air

My bad, I probably should have said water separator. Something like this. But I was wondering if any of you had real success with certain ones.
