    Garage slab condition question

Most people can't park in their garage due to all of the "stuff" they collect. It's possible, maybe likely, that the slab hasn't seen as much water or salt as you think. How long have you been in the house?

Advice -- Shop and Small Apt.

Can you add a bedroom to your house? That would add more value to your property and be easier, possibly cheaper. Large garages, while nice to have, do little for property values if that's a concern.

    Greenhouse on new home

I have a two story solarium on my house. It is similar to what you show. I wish I had vents. It lets a serious amount of heat in and out of the house. I had custom insulated blinds made to help with the heat transfer. I like them a lot but they were very expensive. As for cleaning, I only do it...

    Thoughts On My Workbench Design

Screw the first layer of MDF to the 2x4 frame from the top down. Lay the 2nd layer of MDF on the first and screw them together from the bottom up. No screws are visible and you can take it all apart in the future.

    Side cutters for hardware cloth

My local sears carries Knipex. They have the 8" and 10" diagonal cutters as well as the 8" mini bolt cutters. I got the 8" diagonal for $22 and they are rated for piano wire. My Home Depot has the 8" diagonals as well but no other cutters from Knipex. For hardware cloth I use tin snips.

Not all trips to Sears are a waste

They have had Knipex on sale the last couple weeks. Picked up the mini bolt cutters for $8 after points/coupons.

    Tool Cabinet Height

The front of my garage has a 2' deep x 10' wide bump out that is raised up 15" (2 cinderblocks). I took the casters off my hf box and placed it up on the bump out. I built it into my work bench. I put a 4' work surface above the box and have a lower, 6' long bench next to it. The bottom...

    Garage slab slope.

My attached garage is 21' deep and slopes 8", it's excessive. Water runs right out but my toolbox would too if not careful.

Knipex Plier Wrench Succeeds All, Will Be My Most Used Tool

My local Home Depot started to carry Knipex! I picked up the 10" pliers wrench. They also had 10" and 7" cobras, long-nose pliers and a diagonal cutter. Sears is 20 miles away so I am happy to see some Knipex on the shelf closer to home.

    Baby changing tool cart

I like this idea, and a toolbox for a dresser. I have an 9 month old daughter and we have only used the changing table a couple of times. The living room floor is the go to spot. We keep supplies in an end table. We just put one of these changing pads down, two if there's a dookie...

    The Concrete Underground

Wow. I stumbled across this build several days ago. Seeing it started in 2012 I was hoping to see a completed home and GARAGE at the end. In a way I am glad it's still in progress so I can look forward to how you finish everything. Your attention to detail is inspiring. Hope you pop back in...
