    Air hose....shocking!!

I thought I was crazy at first but the air hose in the shop is shocking me. Not sure if it's static or a short in the wiring. It only happens to a couple of the guys in the shop. If your holding the airhose or a tool plugged into it and touch the workbench....it will shock you. Most of the...

    Flourecent Efficiancy???

An electrician once told me you are better off to leave your flourecent lghts on if you are just leaving the garage for a little while. He said they use the same amount of power in 8 hours as it takes to turn them on. Is this BS or fact? Clark

Wood floor in shop..welding and weight????

It has a full basement. It's actually 36' wide but has a 1' tall beam supporting the middle. We would have no plans for a lift but do have a frame table. The table would never have a complete car on it just the frame and maybe the body. A car on jackstands isn't any different than a car on...

    Ceiling idea, cheesy?

I had it on the ceiling in my old garage. It worked good for insulation but when you use a wire brush wheel in a grinder the wire flies out and sticks in the ceiling. Clark

    Cantelevered carport??

I want to build a carport on the front of my garage. The idea is to make it look like an old gas station. My orignal plan was to use just two posts with a beam. The garage is 32 long where the carport will go. I wanted to put the poles in 8' from each end leaving 16' in the middle. This would...

Thanks guys! The Willys sign was actually being used as flooring in an old barn at one of my favorite junkyards. The chopped T is the only one that is mine. The Tall T will be leaving next week. I just built a chassis for it. The A coupe is just about ready to get painted. Here's an old pic...
