    3/8 Impact Best Deal?

My sunex 1/2" drive metric impact set of short and long sockets has been flawless so far. My wobble 1/2" impact extensions have been fine too, but I have not beat them up at the limit. With my Aircat 1/2" impact, everything always zips off easily and quietly. I don't like the sunex Allen head...

Metal table oil fluid drain catch?

These are all great, thanks guys. Decided I'm going to keep it simple with rain gutters on the back line, table tilted ever so slightly. Thinking easiest to flush mount a drain ****** under the end of each gutter (via epoxy putty), then hose to an empty oil or ATF jug. Then when near full, swap...

Metal table oil fluid drain catch?

Huge fan of these forums, browsing every day lately. How would you setup an existing metal work table bench to catch and drain fluid from transmission rebuilds and other oily messes? I figured I would slope the table either back or to the side, mount metal rain gutter under the edge, slope the...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Finished shelving project. They'll be full in no time. So will have to put up even more.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Put 3" locking peg casters from Lowes on my Harbor Freight 20 ton shop press. They had 3/8-16 threaded rods, so clamped them in the existing holes with washers and stainless steel nuts (for their strength). Painted another stretch of wall after measuring and predrilling for more shelf brackets...

What I've been testing (QUICKJACK by Ranger Products)!

I too am dead set on the BL-5000 if the price is a reasonable +20to30% or so over the BL-3500. Wish a BL-4000 existed since that would cover 95% of modern cars, as opposed to the BL-3500 which covers the lighter half. Most everything coming out today is hitting that 3500-3900lb window...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

The brackets are up on the newly painted white wall. Learned that not all the brackets measure identically. So the biggest variance I've seen vertically is about 3/16". I dislike my painted white plywood boards. Will be buying Melemine white shelf boards from Lowes instead. At least I have a...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

On the back wall, spot priming with oil-based primer, then 2 coats semigloss latex paint. On the shelf boards, two coats oil based primer then final coat same latex semigloss. Other side of the boards is bare plywood, which will be facing up. In retrospect, I should have bought white melomine...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

^^ Thanks, that's the plan. Wanting the ideal of a paint finish coat that will look really nice for when visitors are in the garage judging me :( But the brackets are white, so I nice grey gloss or semigloss would clash. White it is. Hoping to at least be done painting tonight.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Last night, two levels of high shelves sanded and ready to be painted. Probably just going to paint them semigloss white to match the walls, after a few coats of oil-based primer. Going to leave the tops bare, most likely. Still thinking there's a better last minute color change for the shelves...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Marked up wall for two levels of shelving brackets to be mounted. The white stamped brackets from Lowes may not look the best, but each can legitimately hold over 100lbs. Had fun between two types of stud finders and a decapitated nail in a drill chuck to confirm stud location. Took a while, but...

Help with mystery air conditioning inefficiency in home garage shop

It does have a warranty, but I am not too concerned about it past the first few weeks of operation. Perhaps far more important than a warranty, I have the power of my Amazon.com review, where HighSeer advertises these. They would spend a certain amount on me to avoid a scathing review, just...

Help with mystery air conditioning inefficiency in home garage shop

I should have been more clear. I was thinking of the potential to get a separate vent fan to pull air outside the garage via 4" dia flex hose. So I could do something like spray brake cleaner wherever I'm working and not have it turn my garage into a brain cell killing chamber. Would only be...

Help with mystery air conditioning inefficiency in home garage shop

Makes total sense. Makes me wish I could cut a hole in the ceiling to tie into the fireplace vent. Not realistic, but would help in such a situation where the heat has nowhere to go, so it just builds up instead. Exactly, that's the major flaw in a portable A/C, that the input air must come...
