    New Garage/Barn

Just thought I'd throw in an update. Also if you have instagram I've started the interior project work there, under redbarn47. We've decided to stay in the shed a little longer than planned so it is basically being finished like a house inside. Pretty fun so far and the kids get a kick out...

Just a shout out for monoprice... I've used them a lot for CAT6 and the cables are well made and work as advertised.

    Metal Shed exterior rough in

Thanks for the tips and instruction. I'll probably try to give it a go. I just didn't want the elements to enter around the cracks of the box. I like the ideas of back to back boxes and also using a mud ring. I'll have to look and see what is feasible. Would you just use vinyl strip...

    Metal Shed exterior rough in

I've googled for a while and see that some just drill a hole to run the wire through and use a grommet or wire nut fixture to ensure smooth edges between the metal and wire. However I didn't know if this was legit or if a box was required like you would see in vinyl siding installations (I...

    Metal Shed exterior rough in

Does anyone have pictures or description of how they roughed in their exterior outlets and lighting (outside garage doors, front doors, etc...) on a metal shed. My shed is the 29ga metal with raised ridges every 9". I'm having trouble finding pictures or examples of what others have done...

    New Garage/Barn

I've got a question about decking for a loft. I'm was planning on using dimensional lumber b/c I think it will look more barn like and also provide tough flooring that will add a lot of stiffness to the set up. However I don't want to go overboard if it isn't necessary and I could always...

    Wiring runs in new construction

some progress... slow... I've run the 3/0 wire into the breaker box and will soon be making my drops to my outlets. I think the outside with the red paint turned out well. The conduit painted up nicely.

    Wiring runs in new construction

thanks for the continued responses. I do appreciate the feedback and the photo falcon. Making a channel like that out of wood or metal support racking seems to be the way to go to get around the trusses. The building is a stick built building with scissor trusses so it should work fine. I...

    Wiring runs in new construction

Thanks for the feedback. I will use the advice and go up and over to reach my drops whenver possible. It may take a bit more wire but as stated I think it will be the best option. p.s. I will work on my weight, beard, and tatoos.

    Wiring runs in new construction

thanks for the quick replies. Great information and more tools to potentially buy . I'll post a couple of pictures of my initial framing. 10 foot interior walls. I really like the idea of putting a board across distrances to get the wire out of the way, secured properly, and look...

    Wiring runs in new construction

I wanted to ask what people have done for pulling wire to their intended destinations inside a barage/shed/barn that is stick built. The entire interior will be finished with some type of covering (drywall, metall panel, wood...) I wanted to get your opinions about the most efficient and...

    New Garage/Barn

Thanks. I'm looking forward to getting into it but still have a lot to do. I'm the GC and it is the first time putting a building together so I'm learning a lot but the contractors have been great to work with so they've eased the pain a lot.
