Ridiculous difference in prices for contracting a build

I don't think you realize how low maintenance I am. I have no time frame for the build, I'm not going to complain it's going slow as long as it's going slowly. As long as I get a shop that I can work in that won't blow over at a slight breeze I'm happy. If I'm enough of a PITA to these guys that...

Ridiculous difference in prices for contracting a build

Hey guys, so I'm in Phoenix and I've got a 30x30 build going on. It's as absolutely barebones and textbook as you can possibly get, with the exception of 12' ceiling height. It's got a concrete tile roof and stucco outside to match the house. So I'm leaning on doing it myself, or contracting it...

Good point! I didn't even think of treadmill motors, I'll bet that works pretty well for this. I'm OK with the slower belt speed since I use it primarily for knife making. I'm only hogging 1/8 or 1/16 440C and then only enough to cut a blank, once the blank is done I set the speed as low as I...

It's a 2/3/4 pully on both the motor and drive wheel so at 1750 RPM at the motor it spins that guy around 3450 RPM at top speed! Belt speeds are 900, 1800, and 3600 ft/min which is an OK range but I'd love to put a 2 phase and VFD on there some day. Probably this drop in kit I'd imagine. There's...

Two attached garages, quick remodel both before I build the detached

So first off I apologize if my images are too big, I couldn't find a guide here with suggestions for image sizes so I figured 1280 horizontal should be good in this day and age! So I occasionally get wild hairs from watching YouTube videos and after watching enough knife making videos (Walter...

I don't think I've seen any KMGs in this thread. No mods to it yet, though I want to put a pillow block on the back left and run the driveshaft all the way through it so I can put a 9" Disk from Beaumont on it.
