The motor and belts are good. It sounds as if it is running fine but the bit stops turning when it hits the workpiece. I'm not sure how to access the shaft to check set screws, but I'll have another look

I have a Ram Machinery 16 speed drill press. It has lost it's torque and won't drill at all. I don't have a clue as to what's wrong or where to start. Any help?

I feel like a fricken CHAMPION! I just loosened the chain and moved it to where I wanted and it worked like a charm. Had to adjust the closing settings, but overall was pretty easy, even after staying up late watching Bowl games and working 12 hrs today. Thanks for the help GJers

NO, I just re-tensioned the chain and it's pretty snug, was OK before. I'm thinking I just reinstalled it in the wrong location. I'll try to re-index the chain before I pay for parts.

The chain was off the sprocket, and I loosened, reinstalled, and tightened it. My worst case so far is remove the chain, put the door in the UP position where I want it, and reinstall the chain. However, I'm convinced there's a switch or something I don't know about/can't see

It goes down when disconnected also. It's ancient, new enough for laser sensors, older than my mom's she replaced in about 1995. Its for a single wide 7' tall door . I can give you no more info, I just don't know. They can't vary that much....The door thinks it is up, how do you make an opener...

Long story short, I have an older type craftsman door opener. I closed the door on a ladder and messed up the L shaped bar that connects from the top-center of the door to the chain drive. I have fixed that and the door once again rolls freely both directions by hand. The door is in the down...

My larger wrenches are MasterHand from Tractor Supply. I use them at work (once in a great while) and they've held up great. They are inexpensive as well, but I think they stop at 2". I know I don't have larger than that.

I went with this for speed/ease factor. It didn't need to look great, but it doesn't look bad at all. feel free to keep discussing. Theres some good ideas here. If I had to do something nicer, the jigsaw thing would work well.

Its a custom mount so I can adjust a chain. It'll be at least 1/8th inch, no more than 1/4, steel

I need to make some slotted holes for a bracket. If I cannot find something to retrofit, I'll make it myself. All I've got so far is drilling a series of holes and trimming out the excess. Is there any better ways? I don't have a punch or mill.
