    Old steel garage, existing/before/current

Love the Boston Terrier. I had one when i was growing up. I also love the building. Tons of character. It sounds like you've got some easy to fix issues. Not enough to tear it down. Side Story: A friend of mine has a few mice in his shop. One day, as a joke, another friend launched a fork...

Garage complete and my first post..happy day!!!!

Great example of a nice garage. What are the dimensions? It looks like a single car. I have 2 10x22s at my new house, finding it harder to plan out than my current 2 car. One bay is for parking, the other for a project. I have a shed outside, and it's probably going to be for parts storage. I'll...

    Dual receptacles or quads???

In my current garage, I've settled on what works for me, so I'll pass it on. It's 24x24. I have quads on the workbench. 3 sets of duals on each side. 1 retractable extension cord on the ceiling. 2 outdoor duals (one behind, one by the walk in on the front). These are on 2 circuits. The house I...

    Favorite Wrench Brand?

Being that I'm not a mechanic, and that's the only way to get to a Snap-On truck in my town, I'm happy with my Craftsmans. I don't use a lot of wrenches anymore anyways, but most of my "good" tools are Craftsman.

    Miter Saws

I just bought a $100 mitre saw at Lowes. It's a Delta. Honestly, I thought it would be ****, but I'm impressed with it. Used it all day today cutting baseboards for the house, and I'm going to be using it the rest of the week. It's relatively quiet, very smooth, and precise. If it would get used...

    Large storage idea

I saw this on HGTV or TLC the other day, they used it for a push mower, worked good, I'd use it for something like that, but probably not a large motorcycle.

    Woodworking sites and books

I've been doing that, but I seem to get crappy sites most of the time. I've found a few good ones though, www.blackanddecker.com has some project ideas, www.askthebuilder.com is pretty informative. Just looking for some more resources. That magazine sounds pretty cool.

    Woodworking sites and books

Hey everyone, I'll be embarking on a few projects this winter, and want to do some research. I'll be buildings a shelving system and workbench in the garage, building furniture for my office (time permiting) and remodeling a room in my basement (moving the restroom and laundry room...). I'm...

    Design an emergency repair kit

AAA, flares/reflectors, jumper cables, Crescent tool kit (I'll second that, cheap, but effective and small for riding in the trunk, and everything is held in well and won't move around on ya. Plus, it'll have most of the tools you need). Flashlight, tarp, poncho (like $.50 at walmart), I have a...
