I actually prefer that way, but I've read a few posts where people had negative views on it. One stated that the girt might not be engineered to support the weight of the OSB and anything else hung on it.
I'm no engineer, but I assume the steel would be more than capable of supporting the...
I purchased a house with a 30X40 steel frame metal shop. The previous owner started to frame out the interior to make it an apartment. My goal is to frame out the walls in order to put in insulation, electrical outlets/switches and cover it with OSB.
I'm running into obstacles in my mind...
I purchased a house with a steel shop with metal panels. There are some panels that have large dents in them. I'd like to fix/repair them for cosmetic reasons but also to close the gaps they create to keep out as much dirt and critters as possible.
I contacted a few local metal building...
I'm wanting to change the keyed lock on my shop to a keypad version. I only have a single hole in the door with no deadbolt, so it needs to be the keypad handle/knob.
It seems like the Schlage FE595 models would do the trick, but I'm concerned about how well it would hold up. The door is on...
I'm replacing all the switches in my house with GE Z-Wave Plus switches that require a neutral.
I have a 3-way switch at the top and bottom of my stairs. At the top of the stairs is a 2 gang box. One switch is a simple on/off to a single light in the attic space. The other is one of the 3-way...
No. I'm not a fan of it and would like to eliminate it, but that's a bigger project for a future date.
I agree. That's the plan if I decide to stay here long-term.
Not enough where plowing is necessary.
Doing routine raking might be the best answer for now. Personally, I'd like to lose the drive-thru section and pave the regular driveway and down to the shop and call it good, but that project is pretty far down on the list.
I recently purchased a house with a gravel driveway. It also has a drive thru section in front of the house. The problem is after it rains or just over time the gravel starts spreading into the grass.
This isn't a huge issue until it's time to mow or weed-eat and rocks start flying all over...
I called the only Pella service company in the area and got an interesting reply. Basically, the service manager told me to take pictures of the window because it looks like the previous owners removed the sticker with the serial number and we can't find it etched in the glass anywhere.
When I...
The sash appears to be in good condition. I'd like to only replace the glass if possible.
One glass/window place I called won't touch Pella windows. They basically said their frame is a PITA.
I'm still waiting to hear back from the Pella rep.
I recently purchased a house that has mostly Pella windows. Today the outer pane of glass in one of my windows broke. The window is approximately 33X81 and is a fixed double pane picture window (it doesn't open). The other matching window needs replaced because the seal has broken and it's foggy...
That looks great!
I think he didn't want to do the job too. Come to find out the company I called, who has great reviews, sent this guy out because they were too busy. This guy is just starting out and friends with the owner of the company I called, so he was trying to give him some work...
