This unit should work on cars with cats. You just need to tap in ahead of the cat. Some cars for a number of years even had removable plugs in the exhaust pipe ahead of the cat to attach a probe. Since you're working on your own cars it'd be easy to weld on a bung to attach the probe. I too...
