tile backer for wet areas of garage

We live in a rather arid part of the country. It's not like it's wet much more than a couple times a year or when wifey forgets to let the slush slop off of her rig before parking it in the garage. It's a 50+ year old building and seems to be sound except for the occassional water infiltration...

tile backer for wet areas of garage

Just a quickie. Getting ready to sheet some stud walls in a building with an uneven floor. Rain tends to come under the door and run to the north wall occasionally. Would it make sense to use something like a 4" tall piece of tile backer against the floor and then OSB the rest?

Pex is in the floor. No idea what else I need.

You cannot go wrong with BlueRidgeCompany.com. Great company, great service, fast, knowledgable, and friendly. Give them the specs of your building and what you've got done so far and they'll design the rest. I am in the final phase of finishing out my 58x84x18 pole building. Before...

    Strange night in the garage

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man’s fears, and the summit of his knowledge. This is...

Dang, I would do this but my concrete is about 2 years too old now. Dang!

    Light Fixture Grounding

I'm doing this very exact thing in my shop today except I'm daisy chaining 8 4' 2 bulb T5 fixtures together with 30" lengths of 1/2" EMT between the fixtures (fixtures are plastic housings). Ran the green to each fixture and also bonded each individual piece of EMT with a bonding locknut...

Building my own shop.. Save money?

My future farm shop upgrade started 2 years ago when I bought a 58 x 84 x 18 pole building locally and had it erected by a guy and his son. Then I had my local electrician install the panel and draw up a circuit plan for my ideas. Then (here's the key) I had my 3 young boys (20, 17, 14 years...

firing up floor heat in an uninsulated building

I got it updated. Been meaning to do that since I joined. Eastern Washington State. We do get frigid air moving out of the northeast occasionally but not often. Often times we do get held hostage by stable high pressure domes through the winter which keeps us in dense freezing fog...

firing up floor heat in an uninsulated building

I don't have anything in the pex yet. Other than about 15 PSI of air that's been there since we poured the mud a year and a half ago.

firing up floor heat in an uninsulated building

What should I do.....its going to get cold soon. 58 X 84 x 18 pole building went up 2 winters ago. 6" concrete floor with pex tubing went in 2 springs ago with 2" foam board insulation under and around all concrete. Rough electrical and half of the wall framing went in last winter. Propane...

Cut in to a live wire today

I bought a "buzzy pen" the day after I saw an electrician use one. It's always in my pocket if I'm working on electrical. It's a simple double checker!!!!

    They call me....................Tim

Hi Everyone, I'm Tim from Eastern Washington State. I have been farming here for 22 years, and have just put up a 58X84X20 pole building with an attached office. I have been searching the forums for years and thanks to all of you, I have an entire folder of neat ideas and plans for this new...
