    40x60x12 Pole Barn

The pink is Owens Corning Foamular. Not sure what brand the white is, but it's like regular styrofoam with foil on one side. It's all 3" thick. I didn't really dictate what was installed. The insulator came by for a look, made a recommendation, gave me a quote, and I had him do the work. It...

    40x60x12 Pole Barn

I doubt I could build it for the same price these days. Maybe if I DIY'd. I had 40x60 in my head as being something I'd never outgrow. I had it built with 12' ceilings because I knew I wanted a lift. I did not look into steel buildings.

    40x60x12 Pole Barn

Six year update. I finally got my act together and built a wall to divide the interior space. I had an insulator come and install foam board on the remaining 3 walls and ceiling. Looking forward to having a workspace that can retain some heat. Over the last 7+ years, I've accumulated a lot...

Garage Ceiling Insulation for WIDE Spaced Rafters

You're welcome. Only reason I know about it is because I have a similar situation, but 48in OC trusses in my pole barn. It's a good solution to my problem (they make 4' wide rolls, too). Unfortunately, we don't have any Menards in my area and I can't find anyone local who carries, or can get...

Heat pump thermostat wiring & aux (heat strips) heat

Play around with "System type" on page 11. Essentially what you want your thermostat to do is energize yellow and green when calling for heat. The heat strips are emergency/aux heat and they're commanded by the white wire. Your thermostat needs to know what you want in order for that to...

Heat pump thermostat wiring & aux (heat strips) heat

It looks like this thermostat does have the setting you're after. These Honeywells are a pain to configure. I returned one about a month ago because of this. Check out page 11... http://www.thermalproducts.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/TH6220D-FocusPRO-Installation.pdf

Looks great. Who are you using for the foam insulation? How much is it coming out to per square foot, if you don't mind me asking.

    Home Depot Clearance Thread 2016

I got two at .03 and installed them over the weekend. They're ok. I don't like that they don't keep a running countdown of what you pushed or where it is in the sequence. ie, we have another timer. If you push 15 minutes. The lights for 10 and 5 light up as it times out... These only flash when...

Due to popular demand: The 1828 3/8" Nano Impact

My 1828 did something I didn't expect today. I didn't support the pulley at all. The little Nano hit the bolt about 5 times and then spun it free. I was going to use a breaker bar and cam pulley holding tool, but figured I'd try the Nano first. Glad I did. :)

    Coop's Place of Mayhem

Re: The Building of Coop's Place of Mayhem We live on a hill, with nothing to block the wind, and it has been very windy. 4-5' drifts (and bare spots) everywhere. Hoping it dies down soon so I can go out and start digging. The glow plug timer on my tractor died yesterday. Perfect timing.
