What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? Got my fishing poles sorted, cleaned my leaf vac/blowers after sucking up a 50 gallon trash can worth of stuff, and drained 16oz of **** water out of my cars A/C condenser after I unclogged it. That was some fun contortions.

running out of tools to buy.. sad

This x10000. I feel where you are at, I have all the general tools I really "need" right now for the level of work I do. What I needed actually went down once I stopped racing and got rid of the bikes but, I will need more hopefully sooner once I become a homeowner. You even said it yourself...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? pppfftt, little JB weld, duck tape and you will still be better than some of the boat ramp hijinks I have seen. I relised i need a 16mm box end wrench to fill out the size i am missing (for no other reason than it bugs me)

Sears (Not Craftsman; ie old) Compressor clean up (PICS)

Kind of a boring night so I spent some time in the garage cleaning my compressor and installing a new quick disconnect so I dont have to lug around 50 feet of hose just to inflate a tire. Bonus is that once I cleaned the saw that the compressor would go to 60lbs just fine, so much for the 45lbs...

    Fluorescent lighting...electronic ballast questions

Consumer vs commercial and all that. What you need for a house garage or shop vs 100% duty cycle in a freezer case at Tim Hortons vs middle of a parking area at the northern latitudes of Yellow knife etc. Plus a big difference if I need to grab my 6ft ladder or a 120ft cherry picker to change...

    Fluorescent lighting...electronic ballast questions

Not a problem. I am a big believer in buying to the level you really need, the difference between frugal and cheap. Certain things like tools are a cry once, buy once proposition, but that said I bought USA craftsman where I can now because I want quality but don't really need SNAP-ON when I...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? Hung a new 4ft T8 2 lamp fixture in the garage, wouldn't think that it would add a lot but it sure does.

    Fluorescent lighting...electronic ballast questions

Most every electronic ballast is good for 0F start up. There are different quality ballasts but is your garage will be typically used as a household garage and weekend project space they should work fine. At 10 bucks you really can't go wrong. I just installed a 15 dollar twin tube t8 fixture...

What to do with old crappy but not dead tools?

I know its probably sacrilege to a lot of guys here but what do you do with old kinda crappy tools. I have a 2 ratchets that work but are pretty beat up and worked them selves. They are cheapy Chinese ones and I also have a set of box end/ open end wrenches that don't even have country or brand...

    Kobalt, in General.

Ace hardware? The flat head screw driver I just bought last week to replace my lost one says made in the USA on it, that is why I bought it. As far as Kobalt tools, I have the 227 peice set (1/4 and 1/2 metric/sae sockets and open end wrenches/allens, etc) that my brother got me for Christmas a...

Sears (Not Craftsman; ie old) low pressure compressor help needed.

So I got this from my step dad about a year ago when he got a small Kobalt oil-less. He had it for a long time and he got it from his dad, i think. Suffice to say its old, but it still performs well enough to fill car tires 90% of the time and clean up and blow up inflatables. Thanks to you...

My 2 car rental home garage.

I blatantly stole this idea off of here and it works great so far to free up some space. A couple of surplus tables the wife's work was going to through away actually make a decent temporary shelving unit. Safety is always important! The sign actually glows in the dark, hooray for work...
