MaxJax Transport, Install, Impression, and Comparison

Appreciate the input. I've got a monster SDS hammer drill. It drilled a test hole with zero issues. After several test holes, the shallowest part of my shop slab was almost 5" - I think the wedges will be okay. I will check the wedge anchors that came with my Max Jax to see if they are metric...

MaxJax Transport, Install, Impression, and Comparison

Thanks - I was in the middle of ten other things when I tried threading in the "sacrificial bolt" into one of epoxy anchors. I'm going to try the install this weekend with the wedge anchors. The shop it's going in is a detached shop and the one test drill I made was right at 5" of concrete...

MaxJax Transport, Install, Impression, and Comparison

I'm going to try the install with the wedge anchors. Thing is I ordered the epoxy anchors - just in case - when I bought the MaxJax....and the ones they sent don't work with the bolts included for the MaxJax posts. Is this the case for everyone who has installed the epoxy anchors?

MaxJax Transport, Install, Impression, and Comparison

Bookmarking this thread for reference. Just ordered my MaxJax. MaxJaxUsa is running a sale through the end of the week. $1599 for the MaxJax with a free rolling stool thrown in. And I went ahead and ordered the epoxy anchor kit.

    Electrical to shed questions

I'm in the planning stages of a 12x12 shed. I want to run electrical to the shed. The shed is just for storage, as it's purpose is to clear out my garage, where I do all my work. So I only need a couple of outlets (mainly for the battery tender for my riding mower) and a couple of light...

Shed project - thanks Garage Journal

Well the plan is the build it 12x12. I will move it all the way back on the pad, so the overhand is for the entrance. I will make a concrete ramp in front that will blend with the existing pad. The roof will overhang enough on the sides to keep water off the 6" or so of pad that won't be built...

Shed project - thanks Garage Journal

I was out of town this weekend, and finally got some good news. The pad I remembered as being 11x11 is actually 13x13. So much for my memory. So now I'll be shooting for a 12x12 shed. Still haven't decided on what to use for siding. Leaning towards vinyl at this point. I'll do a cost...

Shed project - thanks Garage Journal

I've been a longtime lurker. When I finally bought a house with a garage, I used ideas from here to get it more functional. That was almost five years ago. And since I coach travel baseball (which including off season training has me running 9 months or so out of the year) my "spare time" has...

    Paint Booth........will it work?

Yeah I can probably find a booth to rent / use.. But about the ONLY free time I'll have to paint will be in the evenings, a couple of hours at a time......and I would rather now have to go somewhere to do it...

    Paint Booth........will it work?

Okay so my paint gun is on the way. (new Sharpe FX100 mini HVLP for $50). It should be plenty for painting my tank and fairings. I'll be spraying PPG Shopline BC/CC. I started doing some measurements to put together a makeshift paint booth in my 1.5 car garage...and I just don't think I...

    Initial Paint Booth Plan?

This will be for painting motorcycle fairings / tank etc and small parts. Because of time constraints, I'll be doing only one piece at a time. This a rough drawing, and definitely not to scale. I plan on making a frame out of PVC or Wood. Using plastic to enclose it. It will be about 8...

    Helmet Storage

Cheap metal L brackets (actually free in my case) + some plywood = shelves around the garage. On one shelf above my garage 'desk' I have my 2 street helmets, my wifey's helmet and my kid's helmet + the 2 12 gauge shotguns and the 20 gauge in the soft cases....behind the helmets.

    Painting Motorcycles....

What about heat for the garage? I normally use an electric oil-filled radiator type heater. Will this work for painting? Should I keep it INSIDE the spray booth or outside?

    Painting Motorcycles....

About the gun... I was thinking a decent HVLP "detail" gun should work. I was talking to a friend and he recommended the TCP Global brand HVLP gun....1.4 tip I think. Said it was less than $50 and he was pleased with his.

    Painting Motorcycles....

Thanks for the link... My issue with painting outside is two fold... I live in VA. So in the Fall / Winter it's too cold to paint outside. The other issue is that the only time I really have from early Spring to Fall, to work on anything, is in the evening. I get some time on the weekend...
