New garage floor prep and coating

Thanks for the reply. I was afraid of that, screwed by yet another "contractor". The floor is close to 900 sq ft, I think I'll be taking the contractor to court before I go fix more shoddy work that I paid top dollar for!

New garage floor prep and coating

So this concrete is 6+ months old now and I need to finish the thing out. After I scrape and power wash all the **** off from the drywall clowns.. The concrete guys really did a number on this thing. It was drizzling/sprinkling rain when they poured and they were out there all weekend...

    New garage has finally begun

And then on Feb 17 and 18, demo was started and just about finished. They're hauling off the old driveway chunks Monday and I believe we should have the new concrete poured sometime this week. I'm trying to decide on a floor coating right now, I want to apply it as soon as possible after...

    New garage has finally begun

After finalizing the hail damage payment with insurance (but before getting all of the money..) I went ahead and had the new roof built over the front room and had the shingles replaced. The new roof was part of the original garage plans which I had intended to do all at once. The flat roof...

    New garage has finally begun

Hi everyone, I haven't been super active here but wanted to post my project. If you have questions, opinions or suggestions please feel free to say so! I started thinking about building a real garage about two years ago. When we decided to move in late 2015, the home we purchased was selected...

New air compressor, I would use some advice

Thanks very much for all of the advice! The new garage is actually 40'w x 25'd with an extra 10x10 section and the rear left when looking at it from the front. Not a monster garage but big enough (for a while, anyway). I hope to fit four cars on the floor, an additional one in the air one I...

New air compressor, I would use some advice

Hi all, I've been in the process of starting construction on the garage for the new house for months and months. I sold my old CH 28 gallon oil-less racket maker and just took delivery of this Puma 60 gallon beauty yesterday. There is a little "work shop" room on the side of the house...

Planning to build a garage, where do I start?

So...prices will differ by season? I have a friend that owns a roofing business, I had considered having him do that (discounted or not) if I can get the basic structure up. I have a lot of friends that like beer, oddly enough the one that can do framing does not. I didn't want to beg...

Planning to build a garage, where do I start?

Thanks everyone for your input. I've been trying to get the ball rolling. I've visited with the city and picked up the plat. The "rules" do seem to be very straightforward. I've gotten two bids, both over 32k - both with no interior work and one with no electric run to the building. So far...

Planning to build a garage, where do I start?

All good points, thank you. They were pretty simple on distance from street and lot coverage and I'm good on those. I will make sure I call back and speak with someone else just to be sure and double check on the toilets etc. That will **** not having a toilet or sink out there! How are you...

Planning to build a garage, where do I start?

Hi all, New guy here. We just purchased a home in Fort Worth with a decent 1/2 acre lot that has a 3 spot car port and no garage. I called the city and the only "rule" I really need to follow is that a detached garage can be no taller than the house. I have in mind something in the 26x30...
