    Snap-On KC515a box date?

Hi, the date is 1984. The way you can tell is by the shape of the first digit. In this case by the shape of the number 4. Thanks

    1987 Snap-on toolbox restoration

It is just some red acrylic based spray paint out of a rattle can. It's called "Toolbox red" by Halfords Thanks for all the positive feedback. I already have a complete snap on chest/roll cab set, so this one is actually a Christmas present for my father. He has put up with using cheap...

    1987 Snap-on toolbox restoration

The paint I used is appropriately called "Toolbox Red" made by Halfords in the UK. The paint match is not exact but is very close. All the outside and drawer fronts were painted, and all the internals were left alone, and you cannot tell that much difference in paint shade I simply used some...

    1987 Snap-on toolbox restoration

Hi everyone, just thought I would post up couple of photos from my toolbox restoration. It's a 1987 Kc515 box, which I believe is the KRA equivalent. It's made by snap on Canada (most toolboxes found in the UK appear to have been made in Canada rather than USA) How I got it on eBay...

    Record 23 Vice restoration

Thanks. I have now also done an even older record 34 which has a more of a tubular design.I will post up some pics in the next day or so. As for fighting off rust, i use some lithium grease for all the bare slides and contact points, and wipe down the jaws with wd40. This has proven to work...

    1926 Kismet Trolley Compressor restoration

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I am quite busy so the progress is slow but I have some more snaps for you: As the outer cylinder was covered in score marks, vice jaw marks and people using screwdrivers as drifts, I knew I'd have to turn it on a lathe for best results. First I made myself an...

    1926 Kismet Trolley Compressor restoration

Hi all, Just thought I would share with you my latest restoration project. It is in fact a complete monster of a pump. I have randomly stumbled upon it on Ebay, did some reading into it and thought it sounded like a great project. Below is a small company extract I have borrowed from...

A new set of Bondhus metric T-handle hex keys. I was surprised by just how big they are in real life. Almost double the size of your standard long reach L-shaped Hex keys, but they do look a great quality. Thanks Mig

    Record 23 Vice restoration

Managed to get some more progress done. Vice during further cleaning up: After now after 3 coats: Still have to polish up and reassemble the main screw and I will be done. In the meantime I have been overhauling an old jack I picked up for £5. This is what it looked like after I picked it...

    Record 23 Vice restoration

I double checked and it's as I stated earlier. Basically the washer just sits on the very end of the screw. There is no split pin or circlip to hold it in place, as once you bolt the the quick release lever with its cover back on, the screw and washer have nowhere to go
