    LM8500 Wall Controller Failure.

Free....:headscrat I did the coupon code form, went to Chamberlains site, and bought the replacement 888LM. Unfortunately I was using my phone to do this, and I missed the "insert coupon code" section apparently before getting too far along and having the order processed. Immediately (within...

Retrofit a drain in existing garage slab

Macrosill, that's what I'm envisioning now. nh yota, I've thought about that too. I live in the country with basically no code and enforcement. That's not to say I would be dumping oil down it. Any chemicals being emptied I capture. The drain would be for snow melt/wash down. I'd have to...

Retrofit a drain in existing garage slab

Good timing for this, as the snow melt in my barn wants to collect and pool directly under my drivers door. My barn slab isn't super smooth so I get random puddling (more an "issue" when power washing, not so much day to day) and was thinking a trench drain of some length down the center with...

    Post hole depth and spacing?

Aye, yah, you replied as I was typing that to address the post above yours. In order to address the continuing slope and drainage you'd dig a swale into that slope. It's been done since man learned how to divert water. No need to build the base higher to match a point ** feet away on that...

    Post hole depth and spacing?

You have to excavate a swale around the barn. As drawn it is ONLY showing the immediate structure and does not account for exterior drainage. If you're taking exception to an elevation drawing with hand drawn and exaggerated ground slope then you're hitting above your weight class.

    Post hole depth and spacing?

Bingo. Here's an example of mine. The grade change is exaggerated to make the point more clear. Red is the nails. Gray is the fill for base. Green is original grade.

    Post hole depth and spacing?

You set it where the top of your base will be, which will be your grade level. Bottom of the skirt board is level with the nails then.

    The Best Light Fixture Ever!

I dug no further than reproducing my order quantity and do not come up with the same results you do. I'm guessing there is a quantity break between 10 and 15 units that you are not getting and I do/did?

    40x56x14 Lighting layout

No shots fired  Just showing some actual vs calculated information for a comparison. I'd imagine double the fixtures in my barn would give me a tan. :shocking:

    40x56x14 Lighting layout

I used the Diva tubes in my garage which is that exact size. I have 5 rows of 3 dual-strip lights and consider that to be plenty. The corners are darker, and if I put work areas in those I'll probably add a light in them, but for now they are not useless. So either those calcs are wrong...

    Linear Jackshaft Garage Door Openers

What about the Liftmaster 3900 model? It looks like the same opener without all the "smart" **** with it. I can't tell though if the LM888 is still required or used on this model? An answer on the Amazon ad for it states it still uses the older 315/390 MHz remote instead of the newer 310MHz...

    Lets talk about wasp control.

Certain spiders take care of the mud dobbers for me. But then I have spiders all over to worry about. These spiders remind me of a black widow in shape only, with really spindly legs, but their bodies are white and speckled (but they are not a marbled weaver that I can tell). I smacked a day...

    LM8500 Wall Controller Failure.

This is not good, this is not good at all. I was all set to buy two liftmaster's for my new barn and then I read all this.

    Mohawk A7

Wait, which is it? A deflected carrier or elongated hole in the arm? One indicates over loading of the lift, the other indicates wear. Stressed steal weakens it, worn steel does not. Until the OP clarify's what is wrong, this seems to be the "exception to the rule" if the carrier is indeed...

    Post hole depth and spacing?

Menards spec's their barns this way as well. I thought "Ok", but then reasoned with myself that if the wind or frost is enough to lift the weight of the 6x6, plus wall, plus roof, plus whatever.... that 4" of extra width isn't going to stop it. :headscrat My posts are down 48", on 4" concrete...
