I think a 2x4 under each corner should be enough just to keep the lift, no car on it, from coming down??

We recently bought a home that has a 4 post lift in the garage. Seems to be a "generic" Chinese . It was working f the first few times but no the locks at the back (rear of the car pulled in) are not releasing with the "handle", front are ok, to get the lift down I need to manually work the rear...

Resurrecting this thread.... I had no idea about any of these "adapters".. I was thinking about a pair of "U" shaped channels, the width of a tire, and long enough to get the front and rear wheels on, they could sit over the "pads"...they would be specific to store one car, my Boxster, that only...

Has anyone made a pair of 'plates" to make a 2 post lift lift by the tires.... In Other words, how about making a pair of "channels to go on top of the 2 post lift arms so that you could drive a small (3000#) car on it and lift the car by the tires.....

OK, looks like I'll be buying an $1800 lift from Amazon....
