4 post lift ...not releasing locks

I think a 2x4 under each corner should be enough just to keep the lift, no car on it, from coming down??

4 post lift ...not releasing locks

OK, Thanks...under the left (drivers side) "runner", it's covered, I assume that is where the cables and release rods are...I'll have a look at that next Yes I'm aware of raising to release...(that is not the problem), I can release the locks by turning the "crank" at the rear by hand. To get...

4 post lift ...not releasing locks

We recently bought a home that has a 4 post lift in the garage. Seems to be a "generic" Chinese . It was working f the first few times but no the locks at the back (rear of the car pulled in) are not releasing with the "handle", front are ok, to get the lift down I need to manually work the rear...

    Garage door "tracks"

Thanks guys, i'm going to try and see what happens....These doors in south FL have 4 horizontal 3" x 3" steel strengthening bars across the back of the door, (Hurricane code), if I removed the top one that would also help.....:dunno:

    Garage door "tracks"

New house, has a 4 post lift...BUT the previous owner never addressed the problem of the door hitting the top of the rear posts, the inside (part of the track that the door goes up on) needs about 3" clearance. 2 Post Lift spacing

For a 2 Post Lift...what is the absolute minimum distance the post should/can be from a wall? You do need to get between it and the wall to "swing" the arms. I'm still trying to decide 2 or 4 post (movable) And, still trying to figure how to adapt a 2 post to lift by the wheels...(there is a...

    Wheel-Engaging Adaptors for Car Lift

OK visual learner... vs...Tech challenged....I haven't a clue how to do that... But, picture 2 channels 12" wide by about ?? feet long (whatever the front to rear wheel length is) laying on the "arms" front to back, then you drive the car on to a balance point and lift.....??

    Wheel-Engaging Adaptors for Car Lift

Resurrecting this thread.... I had no idea about any of these "adapters".. I was thinking about a pair of "U" shaped channels, the width of a tire, and long enough to get the front and rear wheels on, they could sit over the "pads"...they would be specific to store one car, my Boxster, that only...

    2 Post lift...

Has anyone made a pair of 'plates" to make a 2 post lift lift by the tires.... In Other words, how about making a pair of "channels to go on top of the 2 post lift arms so that you could drive a small (3000#) car on it and lift the car by the tires.....
