What engine support brace do you have?

Engine weighs 345-lbs with turbo attached (pulled it years earlier for rebuild). No problems with wood beams. I had jack under bell-housing behind engine for additional support, but didn't need it. Removed jack after dropping crossmember to get more room.

Where/when to find a deal on a welder.

Yes! I recommend 2 separate machines. Too many features gets compromised on combo machines. I got my $189 HF UNO MIG unit in 1986. This was back when they sold Italian-made machines imported by Unitra. I used that MIG to learn on and built racing bicycle frames to put myself through university...

    magnetic/spring latch for cabinet doors

I have floor to ceiling cabinet doors that covers an entire wall. Each door is 2x7ft. Very clean looking with no handles. I'd like to install magnetic spring latches to hold closed and open. Because lots of times, I have both hands full when trying to open them. Found these at Home Depot nearby...

Struggling with choosing a multi-purpose winch...

that's right. Winches aren't lifting 5000lbs of car vertically. It would be cosine function of angle of ramp * some initial constant. More like 300-400lbs pull needed to roll 5000lb car up X-degree ramp. I recently loaded this 3500lb car up on trailer with 2000lb winch. Heck, done with 3-guys...

What light bulb screw in standard base would show off the cars best?

What kind of floor-space do you have? Dimensions? Minimum is 6-lights: - 2 halfway down side/middle of car, 45-degrees high. - 4 at corners of car, at least 10-ft away aimed at centre of car, 45-degrees high. Idea is you don't want any shadows of observer on car. This is achieved by having...

    Paint applied with brush?

Assuming prep under brushed-on paint is OK, metal sanded and primered, you can leave it. If brush marks aren't to your liking, try some wet-sanding to smooth out finish and then clearcoat it.

    Welding nuts trick?

I use these to get threaded ends on tubing to make control-arms for race cars. Clean final-product and maximizes strength with lowest weight. https://www.speedwaymotors.com/shop/speedway-motors-weld-bung-fittings~8207-10191-5101-23-246-17691...

Silicone Bronze MIG Braze/Welding - auto sheet metal

Decades ago, I used brass brazing with oxy-acetylene torche to build racing bicycle frames. A lot of the heat-treated chromoly can't withstand heat of welding (cheaper hi-ten 1020 department store bikes can be welded). My best build used French nickel-based steel tubing that was 0.4mm thick at...

    Another welder wiring question :(

Yup, 30amp circuit should work. For attaching power cable, enlarge hole where two wires sticking through back for grommet. Then wire up power cable internally. Use inside end of brass bolt for ground. That should clean it up.
