    Old school residential HVAC tools

Digi-Cool were the first ones available in quantity, early 2000's. There were a couple of iterations, then the "AK" series were much cheaper. There was a really cool manifold under development, which never happened. It was all done by Jim Bergmann and his wife. The Digi Cool website is still...

It's been available for a while. At least 15 years.

    Old school residential HVAC tools

Maybe. I wasn't able to maintain a wireless connection with the phone two floors up (wood framing) and about 15 feet over laterally. Was using Fieldpiece and Testo probes. Fieldpiece makes (or used to make) a sort of signal repeater, and i believe it only works with their app. Quick search...

    Question about superheat.

This is a typical spec for walk in coolers, and while superheat is set at the TXV valve, it needs to be verified at the compressor, and that may change the settings at the TXV valve to satisfy compressor requirements. For residential equipment, go with the data tag on the unit.

Hvac and insulation guys I need some advice

From what I have read, there is very little actual temperature difference in an attic under an asphalt shingle roof of other colors besides black.

****** HVAC duct in an attic...

If the metal duct is insulated, it's no different, as far as the environment is concerned, when compared to insulated flex duct.

Yummy stuff right there. I don't see much ductboard in may area. What I have seen, lacked any duct sealant where the collars were attached for the flex duct. That's besides the wrong type of collar being used, and that they were too small.

Not limited in any way, shape or form to residential HVAC.

Well this may be overkill, but 20 tons of ac

If it's coming off the roof, odds are that it's junk because it's being replaced. Taking a good one off and replacing it is pretty rare. Obviously, demolition and remodels would be the main exceptions. And don't even think that a commercial building owner is going to fix one any better than a...

Hvac and insulation guys I need some advice

Those ducts were not sealed. I would assume that the electric rate went up. Metal ductwork does not "deteriorate" unless it is smashed or rusts- neither will happen naturally to the metal if it is installed properly. Nope. Would be quite difficult to come up with an actual number. If it is...
