Looking for tool organizational system suggestions (AKA Mil. packout-type kits) for a beginning Handyman who will eventually branch out on his own.

That's why: van, not open bed pickup truck. The loose stuff can also kill you in an accident.

Question about Converting R22 to R32

I have always felt that the risks from flushing a lineset outweigh the benefits of doing it. I've never had a customer pay for a pressure test on an existing lineset, nor have I ever had a customer want to replace a concealed lineset. What do you do? Replacing a lineset isn't always possible...

    Attic temperatures

The only realistic way you will be able to do this is to make the attic space conditioned space. Spray foam the roof deck (underside) or rigid foam above, covered with plywood for a regular shingle roof.

    Insulation heat-loss improvement, system sizing

It would actually be best to do the one thing that almost no one in these forums ever does, and that would be doing a load calculation. Then you will know the answer. A load calculation will also provide crucial data that's needed to set the balance point. The economic balance point will tell...

    Attic temperatures

I have seen this many times. Also no chutes to keep insulation off of the vented panels. I even caught the assholes trying to do it to me on my house- put in a vented soffit panel, but no hole in the original wood soffit. Then they tried to get away with literally busting a hole in the wood...

Milwaukee Packout is expensive and there's significant wasted space in the volume that the box occupies. Ridgid has basic plain boxes that lock/clip together. Despite looking at other systems, these continue to meet my needs for basic bulk storage. I also have a couple of Sortimo boxes with...

Experience with Mitsubishi or other "ducted minisplits"

A Bosch IDS Ultra condenser is super quiet, an inverter and is a cold climate rated heat pump. It can be paired with any evaporator coil and fan with a non- communicating 24V control system and thermostat. There are communicating matched systems available, but really only when paired with an...

    Apprentice loadout?

Would agree with this 101%. And yes, attics are hot, but so are rooftops. And ******* all of your **** up the ladder that gets there... before doing any work. Don't be mislead that one side is easier than the other.

    Apprentice loadout?

If you are in a union apprenticeship, there should be a tool list. The unions i am familiar with all have such a list. Tools add up fast. It's easy to buy something to "make your job easier", but I have yet to experience anything coming back my way for "extra" stuff brought onto a job, and it...

My home's central A/C system is driving me nuts

There normally isn't a gauge port at the metering device... You must have gotten lucky.
