    My garage build: 70x30 detached

Thanks, yes the Coke machine works beautifully. It is a 1958 Vendo 81. Great for visitors, so I keep the change return full of dimes. On poker game nights, I load it with beer. The mechanical sounds and feel of the lever and release bars bring back old memories! And it fits in well with my red...

    My garage build: 70x30 detached

One year ago, this E Type joined my garage. I can safely say I'm fully in love with it now. In the Fall, I'm hoping to take it all the way up the West Coast through California, Oregon, and Washington. After getting accustomed to British car eccentricities, I love driving this baby. It'll be in...

    My garage build: 70x30 detached

I borrowed a scissor lift, didn't love it. I decided not to do anything at this point, finding that just using jacks and jackstands works well for me, particularly because I can do the work in any part of the garage I want to. Also, the far right back of the garage may now get taken up by me...

    My garage build: 70x30 detached

Today I added something I always dreamed of: a 1969 E Type roadster. I got it at the Barrett-Jackson auction, and she is a decent driver-quality car, certainly no concours contender! But I have tons of work to do on it for my preferences, starting with changing anything thats a fluid. I'm going...

    My Single Dutch Delight

Wow, you are one dedicated and talented handyman! After seeing all that concrete and brick you've had to work though, I'll never again complain about having to pull some new wires behind a little basic drywall!

    My garage build: 70x30 detached

I'm looking for some ideas for "jackable ramps", in order to do service on a car by driving up on ramps without having to jack at any points on the frame. I've searched for ideas on the forum and generally on the web without a perfect solution. Ideally, I'd love to avoid an entire entire...

    My UK barn renovation.

That is a beautiful property, clear why it is listed! I love the start to the barn-garage, particularly the design on the "new-old" barn doors. It is going to look fantastic (and clearly you will have it well organized by the look of the storage items you brought from the old place). I'll be...

    NS basement shop

Well, I guess that motorcycle is parked for the winter up there! I love Nova Scotia, although I've only visited twice (Halifax). Both times in Winter, but even then, still beautiful. Show us the view from outside of the garage some time in the dead of winter!! One day I will take a road trip...

Finally getting to build a detached garage/shop!!!

Yeah, it seems you have no security issue with them being so high. So you'd only really need something if there was a sunlight issue. And with that, a nice window film goes a long way toward shielding UV light. The paint scheme sounds great!

    My garage build: 70x30 detached

In another thread I noticed someone with high garage windows that might make it difficult to open or access window shades. I mentioned that we installed these battery-powered Somfy automated shades. They are programmable to stop at different spots and I am happy with their convenience. I thought...

Finally getting to build a detached garage/shop!!!

Wow, the new drywall really lightens things up in there. I've really enjoyed reading through your build. It's going to look fantastic with the new paint and that great floor! Have you decided on the interior color? Also, do you know what you are doing for the window coverings? (I ask because the...

Cleaning up the garage a bit

Nice transformation! Good luck with the next step! Do you have any plans for the concrete? I kind of like the patina on those floors, as if you could just polish it up and keep it a bit "vintage" looking.

I dream of triples but play in a single!

Love it!! Ingenuity, good engineering, and follow-through. On top of that, an amazing car (love that first pic above of the front 3/4 view). Enjoy it all, you've got my head spinning with some ideas for my garage now! thanks!

    Third time's the charm - 40*50*12 build

Interesting set of limitations... so with a 24,000 sf lot, your max coverage is 6000, less the 2574 sf for the existing house, so you would have max new building of 3426 sf, but that isn't allowed to be greater than the 2574 house. I'm curious whether that had caused you to consider growing the...
