Nice rebuild. Just picked up this same model and was wondering if anyone knows what would bolt on the machined area on the rear table casting? No reference to this in the manual.

DC motors are expensive to buy but often free in treadmills that are being scrapped. Bolt on a $25 scr controller (or use the control board in the treadmill) and you’ll have variable speed. Just completed my drill press conversion and can get down to 150 rpm.
This an old post but thought I would offer my recent experience. I recently replaced the AC motor on my craftsman 13” with a treadmill dc motor. Had to add a box on the side for new electronics but now is variable speed with great torque even at low speed….lowest is 150 rpm
