Dap 33 glaze hard to stick to window and itself!

Many years ago, I went to the neighborhood hardware store to buy some window putty. The old man who owned the store, grabbed a can of DAP33 and put it on the store's paint shaker. I asked him why he did that. He said it will be much easier to work with, and he was right. If the product sets...

    usa made vise grips

Last summer I had a pair of visegrips that needed a new spring. I got on the Irwin website, ordered it and it was mailed to me for free. It took less than a week. Hopefully they still do the same thing now.

How much force from a pair of Visegrips?

Nolan- If you have lost a spring, log on the Irwin website. You can have a new sping sent to you. You need to know the model number. I did this earlier in the year. There was no charge and I received it four days later. I have no idea were the spring was made, but it worked.

Opinion on used Craftsman Professional box

I have a Craftsman 46" "Industrial Series" chest that I bought 12 years ago. I think this model is the version that preceeded the "Professional" model you are considering buying. They originally came in 36", 46" and 56" width. It is as well made as the 32" Snap On cart and the 34" Mac combo...

What should I do with this mower?

Those were a great mower in their day. I had one simlar to it in the mid 70's It was used to mow about 10 to 12 yards a summer. I wish is still had it. The two cycle engine was good for mowing steep banks without worry of an "oil shortage" that could happen with four-stroke. The deck on mine...

    Loft in pole building question.

The building will be used for storage. I am planning on 8' from the slab to the bottom of the joist for the loft. That will allow cars, small tractors, snowmobiles, lawn equipment etc. in the low clearance area. As for lbs/sf in the loft, I am not sure. It will be storage of off season items...

    Loft in pole building question.

I am having a 42' wide, 80' deep, 16' sidewall pole building constructed. Fill dirt is being hauled in now. The poles will be put in (10' on center) and then a 5" concrete (3500 psi) floor installed. After the floor is in, the rest of the building will be completed. At some future time I would...

    Impact Wrench question

At Last! We heated up what was left of the broken bolt. After it cooled we hit it with the air hammer. It didn't budge. We used an angle grinder with a metal cut-off wheel and cut the strut bracket away from the steering knuckle. With the bracket removed, there was about an inch of the...

    Impact Wrench question

The bolts were NOT splined. However, they were rusted tighter than a gnat's a$$ over a rain barrel! My son thought we had so much fun doing the front, that now he wants to do the back struts as well. Our story may not be over.... Thanks again for everyone's help.

    Impact Wrench question

I have an update for those of you keeping score. The 21mm 3/4" drive impact socket arrived at NAPA yesterday afternoon. It was marked NAPA USA SKC and cost $24.34(it was worth every penny) The day before we had used a MAPP tourch and heated up the bolts as was mentioned in earlier posts. It was...

    Impact Wrench question

First off, I will say I am not a mechanic or auto tech. My son wanted to change the front struts on his 93 Pont Bonneville. I agreed to help him. We got the front drivers side done with no problems. On the passenger side, we got the 24mm nuts off the two lower bolts, but the bolts will not...
