    My Uncle worked at Hughes for 30+ years retiring in about 1995. In the mid 80's, Hughes closed the Culver City Airport and started clearing out all the shops. Many tons of stuff went to the dump. My Uncle saw this bench and asked if he could have it rather than dump it. Here is the back story...

    This is it exactly. Same layout inside the drawers. Mine is missing the original front panel and the plunger on the left that locks the front panel. I bought another lid that had the front panel attached and cut it to fit and then attached some projections to the bottom that fit into the slots...
