That was my exact intention with my garage only with 2x4 but the 2x2 would be better. I can section off a part of the garage for my wood working stuff, less clean up.
This here is why I do my own work. I never built a garage before but I just dont trust contractors not to cut corners and do things I wouldnt do. Hence I built my own, did my own roofing, siding and doors. That way there is no questions what so ever.
I do the same as most others. Bid what I think is a fair price to win it, if I dont I dont care if I do its a deal for me. I also will use "odd" numbers for the same reason as to hopefully beat out the other guy by pennies.
I have the room but figured why waste it. I built my bench tall enough for the table saw to fit under it and also have all cabinets and shelves up over 6'. The important thing is getting things off the floor space where cars/people need to be.
I also have only 2 windows, 2x3 and the headers are right up at the top plates. On the outside it is even higher because of the pitched floor. You would have to be 6'5 to even be able to tip toe and see in there, and I figured if your that big you aint getting in that window anyway! OR if you...

Why didnt you put a man door where the sidewalk is? Other than that it looks GREAT!
AWESOME Spray Glue and most of the other products are really good too. I worked at a HIGH END Audio shop in MA that used most of the Wurth products and they are very good. Pricey for my tastes but good.
Couldnt have said it better myself, I feel exactly the same way and did it for the exact same reason.
Far as I can remember mine arent covered by them either. The angle is only 6" on mine so it didnt really make the door so much smaller that it is unuseable. What do you think that would get in...
39k for a garage? Ouch. Look at the majority of vehicles that are in those. Not for "regular" people. Damn I spent under 12k on mine. Thats enough dough for me.
Built mine alone besides the foundation and the trusses. Took me about 4.5 months to get it to a point where it looked completed on the outside. I had 10 or so hours of "help" total. I did this working 2 jobs about 55-60 hours a week and having my daughter 2 nights a week for 4 hours. 28x30

Got one for like $80 from Home Depot. The 13 in 1 type ladder A-frame, scaffold, and extension. I like it so far except as extension. I am 250lbs and it just gets too scary on it at 14'. The rest of the time it is VERY STURDY! I have it tucked away under my bench and use it ALL THE TIME!!
