    As I am reading them, those hurricane ties are just galvanized steel, is that correct? I am thinking perhaps I could also use slotted angle bars instead? Will it be able to resist uplift?

    Upon inquiring they told me they are only selling concrete ties. :-( The hunt still goes on. Tried to contact the other dealers but no response yet.

    As I live in the Philippines we don't seem to have hurricane ties, what could be an alternative? Can an angle bar with holes suffice? We are tormented with powerful typhoons every year and I want to be better prepared specially with the likes of Haiyan. BTW, I have wood furlings and trusses...
