    Vintage Ratchet Identification

Who do you think made this Ratchet? No other marking than what is shown. Looks to be a W in a circle 1-2 .Looks to have a Bonney mechanism but a not finished forged body of a Williams. The mech is a single sliding type pawl. Thanks ahead of time

I think you are seeing the pat date of 1902 but yeah that's what it is. Looks to be an F model. This company was bought by Yost and they later produced a version of it.

After the first one, I started scoring the tape and then wrapping a shop towel on the long end soaked in carb cleaner. Covered them up with a plastic shopping bag. Stuff just scraped off easy with a plastic putty knife after that.

I have 8 of them. They all had the Origin of manufacture on the sticker on the box. All from Argentina. Even the two 8" x 5.5" anvil style units I bought before they sold out. 😀 8" x 5.5" sitting on the 8" x 9" Engineers style unit.

    Yost vise information

There's 2 on ebay. Both do not have the center bolt or the lockdown bolts and handles. A newer 204 or 104 swivel should work and they still have the old timey look to them and are very substantial in build. This is a 2024 production yost 204 I just got. They are made in Taiwan now but they...

    Yost vise information

Rustoleum midnight ink blue is a good close color to the Yost original color. Mine is painted bright orange so I would quit running into it at work lol! My 1974 204 has a bolt spacing of 4- 5/8". I'd call Eastwood and talk to a tech line guy and see if you cannot find a base for the bolt...
