Strong freestanding metal shelves (post up!)

I'm using several shelves similar to this setup - I found a bunch of the shelving on Craigslist and pieced it together then went and bought the bins online. Def have a little money in it but it was worth if for the 180 or so individual storage bins...

Water heater - tank or tankless? Eliminate chimney/flue?

Just installed an new oil furnace with an indirect fired 60 gallon water heater replacing tankless oil furnace set up. Night and day difference in consistency of hot water and probably running the furnace at least 30-40% less per day than with the old system. Auto oil delivery, usually pretty...

What is a good/better enclosed parts washer

I bought a old used 42 gallon Graymills solvent washer off Craigslist. Need a lot of cleaning and new filters, but as far as I can tell, they haven't changed the design much in 20+ years. I added a big magnetic old pan heater on a timer to warm the solvent and it works great. Paid about 1/4...

Anyone modify their drill press for more height?

I have a Delta floor standing drill press that is a little bit too short to fit in some rectangular frames I need to drill some holes in. Anyone ever run into this problem and changed out the existing column for a taller one? Looking at the parts diagram, it seems it would be sort of a remove...

    grainger customer service is crappy

Luckily, my local branch has a few long-timers who are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful when I can walk in. The not so long timers are no where near as friendly, and the newest ones are horrid. I also had a regional sales rep who would routinely get me pricing I could sometimes hardly...

    Work boots

I've never really like steel toe boots, but recently purchased a pair of Keens w the composite toe. One day to break them in a little and I'm good to go for 8+hours on a concrete floor. Highly recommend them. deezil
