    Insulate slab edge without footer

Id definitely work around the cooler temps for working with the siding.

    Insulate slab edge without footer

The insulated siding does interest me but just thinking... it currently hasmaybe 7/16 osb on the outside. Would adding a layer of 1/2in xps over the top of it and covering the slab edge possibly work? And then add 2inch osb over the edge of the slab. I would have to retrim out my windows but...

    Insulate slab edge without footer

I cab try to post a Pic later when I'm home. It does have a bit of a slope running away from the slab. The rest of the house does have a footer, although I'm not sure how deep. Insulating above the slab isn't an option now. I'd have to do the whole house or have a step up. For now, I'd like...

    Insulate slab edge without footer

Right now, the ground is at the bottom of the slab edge leaving the entire edge exposed. I was going to fill up to halfway or so on the slab edge unless that's a bad idea.

    Insulate slab edge without footer

I'm located in Southern Kentucky. This slab is over 20 years old and doesn't appear to have had any issues. When you say dig down 10-12 inches and out 2-3ft, what do I need to fill with?

    Insulate slab edge without footer

The edge of the slab is usually close to the same temp as the outside.

    Insulate slab edge without footer

This ios actually for my house instead of my garage but im hoping that you all can give me some advice here. One bedroom on my house is harder to heat and cool than the rest. Im planning to add some more attic insulation as it only has R19. Ive also been insulating the edge of my house as its...

Installing slab edge insulation to existing slab

i had some of these masony fasteners, but I decided to use tap cons with washers as they felt a lot more secure. I have about half of the xps up on one side of the house. Hope this is worth doing!

Installing slab edge insulation to existing slab

I have some plastic 4inch long conrete anchors. I might just use them. Then I could use adhesive to get the aluminum to stick to the foam. What would be a good adhesive?

What did you cover your foam with and how did you attach it to the foam?

Installing slab edge insulation to existing slab

My house is on a slab and id like to add slab edge insulation around the footer of the house and garage. I have 2inch XPS that I ripped down with a 45 degree angle on top. I bent aluminum coil that I plan to cover the XPS with that will tuck under my siding J channel and also bends to cover the...

    Duct sizing for room

I know it's probably not ideal, but would having both registers in the middle of the 16 ft be ok? I think.the current one is 3ft off the wall in the 12ft. Also the main duct goes overhead here. I could just tap into it instead of splitting the 8inch duct.

    Duct sizing for room

I considered that, but the existing register is in the middle of the room. Going any farther to the back of the room is a near impossible task due to only inches of attic space. That leaves me with the choice of having 2 registers in the middle of the room spaced evenly across the 12ft width, or...

    Duct sizing for room

I'm partitioning part of my garage to make some rooms and I'd like to know what size flex duct i should go with. The bedroom im concerned about is 16 x 12 and will have 1 window. It currently has 7 inch duct feeding one vent. Should I up it to 8 or 9 inch? By the charts I'm seeing the existing 7...

    Metal roof on 7/16 osb

Im pulling all of the shingles off. Im just not a big fan of having multiple layers of roofing material. Any bad sheathing will be replaced.
