    Link Test

No worries there - I agree 110%. I still have an old habit or thought that if I have more than just a few, to put a couple up and link the rest. Thank you for your advice!

    Link Test

Seriously, my logic isn't the best the last few years. I was thinking it would be better to show a link rather than 'posting' (too many) images on one post. Kind of like the link on my signature line except the source would be 'my' garage journal album. In the past, on other phpbb forums, I...

    New Shop Plumbing Question

Thank 'you Everybody. Northislander - all is good plus you answered another 'curiosity' I had! 79firebird - Thanks for the answer, also for including the mention of the roof stack remaining un-capped. I believe that small point is what was throwing me off as far as reaching a seal for...

    New Shop Plumbing Question

Can you identify and tell me what, if anything is going on here? (lol) Utility sink will be on the left and drain into the pipe with the spigot on the end. There appears to be a 'sleeve' with a hose clap securing it. It looks like too much trouble just to cap the pipe temporarily with a...

    Shop - Too Many Vents?

First of all, Thanks Rusty Bolt. Nice and educational link, pretty long video but a good speaker that's easy enough to listen to. I appreciate that very much, it definitely helped me get more up to speed. Tom, thank you for your information. I'm in the same Geezer club! A couple of items I...

    Shop - Too Many Vents?

Thank you guys for your input on this, I am checking those links out and researching some other sources as well. The roof vents being used are static RCV stem vents (RV038) I can't tell what the diameter is at this point in time . The soffit vents are in the spaces between the trusses-...

    Shop - Too Many Vents?

Well..... Edited: Having a shop built and I was thinking it was going to have too many roof vents (static 12"x12"). About 24k cu.ft. and 17 vents. Since the post, I learned a few things about the build I didn't know but it still seems a bit extreme to have 17 of them. Cheers! Original post...

Prepping Pitted Existing Metal Hand Rail for Paint

Thanks guys. Sometimes I get stuck thinking "inside" the box. Sounds perfect and I can level it out - conform it before putting on the paint which is good.. I appreciate the tips.

Prepping Pitted Existing Metal Hand Rail for Paint

Thanks for your input and that would be quite nice. These rails are roughly 25' long with three or five bends on each to conform to the steps. There are about seven risers welded to each side and are sunk in rock walls that border the stairs. - lol.

Prepping Pitted Existing Metal Hand Rail for Paint

Hi Folks, I have an existing exterior stairway with two lengthy metal, tubular hand rails that need a bit of resurfacing and a paint job. The current paint which has the "hammered" look, appears fairly decent but closer inspection reveals small (maybe 1/4" max) diameter chips/recessions on the...

    240V lighting??????

I caught this thread using the search. Just wanted to say thanks to fflinstone for posting the questions up and to Charles (in GA) for his answer on the 240v switch needed. (all the input is good) Here, wiring up a 240v, 1500w T3 lamp (using it as a screen print exposure unit located in a...

    Garage Wiring Question

Thank you all for your input. I really played around with these wires too much yesterday and should have sat back a little earlier to analyze the whole picture. I fixed the main problem which was the neutral connector. I won't try to explain how I missed that. I then connected to the outlet...

    Garage Wiring Question

I must be getting senile a little early but cleaned up my act when I went back down to have another look at it. I'm aware of the grounding pig tails and have already taken care of that. The biggest error on my part was not connecting the neutral between the outlets. Pretty ridiculous IMO, but...
