Can you identify and tell me what, if anything is going on here? (lol)
Utility sink will be on the left and drain into the pipe with the spigot on the end. There appears to be a 'sleeve' with a hose clap securing it. It looks like too much trouble just to cap the pipe temporarily with a spigot...
Currently the drain pipe is connected to the shower and toilet as well as the vent system going to the roof. Outside, the drain pipe is not connected to the septic system since it doesn't exist yet. Water is not yet live. Is this for a "future" pressure test (hydrostatic or otherwise) or air gap test or something?
Thank you.

Yes its to test the pipe for leaks they will fill the system with water tell it comes out the roof stack. Its done in all new houses.

Interesting, never seen that done before.

So they hook a hose to the spigot and "back fill" the system ? I would hope they put a Fernco cap or glue a cap on the drain at the lowest point at the exit to prevent the water from escaping ?

Thank 'you Everybody.

Northislander - all is good plus you answered another 'curiosity' I had!
79firebird - Thanks for the answer, also for including the mention of the roof stack remaining un-capped. I believe that small point is what was throwing me off as far as reaching a seal for pressurization. I understand that even though the system is passive, it still needs to perform as required.
NUTTSGT - I'm sure your last question is the case. The drain at the lowest point is exposed outside.

The pressure side is tested at 100 PSI for 24 hours.
The waste side with water to the roof for 24 hours.

That is why a new build toilet flange will often have a "knock out" blocking the hole.
