You are right, every door has an entry model. However, every higher end WD door that I have installed is junk compared to every entry Amarr or Raynor door that I have installed. Just saying.
Amarr is a great door.
Raynor is greater.
I have both Amarr and Raynor on my personal house. The...
I don't understand this or where it comes from. I read this before. I just installed a set of Newage cabinets and am in the process of installing two more sets. The cabinets have screw holes in the back and we drilled them right onto the studs in the wall. Doesn't all the literature show...
Why is the Bendpak cumbersome with the ramps? They come right off and are out of the way. I'm currently in the process of cutting the floor and countersinking mine.
HoosierMark,
I just put in a couple of doors last week. Having some insulation in your doors would be great, but it personally wouldn't spend the coin for anything crazy UNLESS you were heating or cooling the garage. In my case I put in Amarr doors on the main 3-car garage with about an R6...
I'm a GC. I always tell people that the best way to find a General Contractor is to check in with the local suppliers and subcontractors. They will tell you who is good and who is not. I see a lot of GC's that I know don't pay their bills very well, and do scab work, stay pretty busy because...
I've never heard not to use galvanized, but have heard that regular black pipe can scale. I just ran several hundred feet of galvanized. Is there a source that can verify this? If it's an issue, what can be done to mitigate it?
When I design houses I always try to stick with 18' doors for double car bays, and 10' doors for single bays. Rarely will I do a 16' or a 9' garage door. Never will I do an 8' door.
You will be happy that you ditched the idea of using an 8' door.
I did that once while I was in the military. Turned all of my grey PT gear into lavender. Happened at night and I had no choice but to go to PT wearing lavender because I had no other gear. Boy did I look stupid.
Is there an online lighting calculator that anybody knows of to help estimate lighting in my new shop? I am in the process of building a 22x60 bay with 16' ceilings. Was thinking that it needed 14 or so 6-bulb T8 fixtures, but as I read around I think that may be a bit much?!? Any help would...
I'm currently building my next house and the garage is 60' deep. The first 25' is sloped to the door 3" in 25', the remaining 35' is flat. I do plan on washing cars and bikes inside on the sloped section.
I'd finish the Sheetrock first. All they did was fire tape it. You still need a few coats of Sheetrock mud and then texture. If you paint that as it currently is it will look like ****.
The bigger the better is my style. My preference would be for the 24" tiles, but realistically I think that you will find 12" to be the cheapest and 18" to be the most readily available.
