What did you do "IN" your garage today?

I'm curious to see how that works out Jimmy_B. It was fairly dry when I put one in a few years ago. I used an electric sidewalk edger to cut a 1.5" slot in the dirt. It worked great. For areas that were a little wet, I used a large heavy axe.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? I scored a serious load of scrap off CL yesterday. I prepped most of it today by dismantling engines, scooters, radios, ... and separating the aluminum, steel, brass, copper, ... for a run tomorrow. I next need to figure out the best environmentally...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? I'm getting back to some cleaning and sorting I started over the summer. Man it's boring organizing fasteners and other small junk. I'm giving up on a portion of it and putting it in the scrap metal bin.

Sears Floor Jack parts - any suggestions on suppliers?

I have a Sears 3 ton floor jack that apprently needs new seals. Sears only sells the whole unit, not individual parts. I have pictures and measurements and need to find someone who can source the parts. I've already tried contacting a person on this board who seems to be the guy for jack...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? Separated a bunch of metal going to the recycler in a bit. Clean brass and aluminum (no steel bolts, screws, and junk) get more $.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? I was looking at my Scotts broadcast lawn spreader a couple weeks ago and noticed the axle was rusted to pieces. I finished making the replacement today. I'm waiting for the paint to dry so I can get it assembled again.

Replacement parts for Sears floor jack

I have a 199? Sears 3 ton floor jack that won't hold a load. I'm guessing the internal cup seal is worn. Question: Can you guys recommend where to get replacement parts? Here are some pics of my jack: http://s374.beta.photobucket.com/user/dethomson/library/Shop%20Tools/Sears%20Floor%20Jack I...

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Re: what did you do in your garage today? Fixed an old sump pump. Lengthened some 4x4's so they can get planted deep into the ground for my privacy fence. Still cleaning and organizing hoping to be able to start some vehicle work sometime soon.

    Fixing a small submersible pump

It's a small 1/4 hp or so that you can connect a garden hose to. I picked up some mineral oil and it's back and running. I'm a little disappointed in the pressure as I was hoping to be able to water my yard with the water being pumped out my above ground pool. I think there's a new higher...

    Fixing a small submersible pump

Does anyone here have experience fixing small submersible pumps? I have an old one that was used hard and sucked up dirt. It sat for a few years and became jammed after the dirt caked in. While taking it apart for cleaning, I also took out the motor and found it to be in its own chamber with...

    Welding galvanized pipe

BD1: I'm using a MIG. All the material is old fence posts.... I am replacing an old chain link fence with a 6' high wood privacy fence. I can't dig holes around my large trees due to the mature root system and plan to leave in the ground a few old cemented posts (one on either side of each...

    Welding galvanized pipe

Thanks all! I'll stop by the pool supply shop and get the acid. The web site referenced by Lotek has some good info.

    Welding galvanized pipe

Good info. I wasn't sure if grinding would be sufficient. The work is outdoors, so lots of fresh air will be breezing around.
