Thanks Dwight. This is where I'm at now. All cleaned up and slides back in. Next is cleaning up the paint, emblems, and drawer liners.

    Snap-On KR series toolbox restoration

Today I began with removing all of the drawers and the old slides which will not be re used. I then used degreaser, scotch brite pad, wire brush, and a power washer to clean the entire surface but specifically the sides of the drawers where the slides go. I spent about 2 hours on it today and...

Gearwrench Ratchets 120 vs 84, what do I do now?

I had 120's and i sold them on ebay. I kept my 84's. The 120's just didn't feel good and they seemed to bind up. Never had a problem with the 84's

    Snap-On KR series toolbox restoration

For some reason it hasn't rusted as of now but I believe that is because it has a a greasy grimy coat on the exterior of the entire box.

    Snap-On KR series toolbox restoration

I already have new slides for the top and middle box and the new slides are in the mail for the roller. I cleaned up a box similar to these (but older) a few months ago that was in much better shape. I didn't replace the slides, I just used a power washer and they came out great. Their condition...

Those drawers are deceiving in pictures but that is how they are designed. They are not flat in the front.

    Snap-On KR series toolbox restoration

So, I was given this middle box (kra-429c) and top box (kra-59d) (picture 1) from a good friend of mine about 3 years ago. I got new slides from Snap-On and started to clean it up but kinda gave up on it since I had no where to put it until I had a bottom box. Ever since then I have been in...

    Snap-On KR661 value?

I drove to Pennsylvania (from King George, Va) and bought this KR661 as well as a KR550b for a total of $950. A steal of a deal especially for the condition they are in. But, I honestly only wanted the KR550 and wanted to flip the big box. I have it listed for $1,200 with someone supposedly...

The seemingly cut throat world of the tool truck industry

My Grandfather worked for a few years as a SO dealer and 25+ years as a SO manager. He did really well for himself but he was a hard SOB who put his entire life into it. My Father was a SO franchisee for a few years before he lost all of his money and folded. He then became an industrial dealer...

    Snap-On KR661 value?

I've looked on eBay, Craigslist, Facebook, etc. I see what people are slling these for but what would you realistically pay for this or what have you seen it go for?? Disregard the top kr-550. Just asking about the bottom kr-661. It has one dent in the top drawer and light scratches from 20+...

    Yes Another Snap-On Box Restoration......

I'm just cleaning this up, beating the dents out, and buffing the paint back to a shine. My question is, where can I get a replacement handle for the kr-59 lid?
