    agreed. looked at a bunch of photos, haven't seen that knob on any. it is nicely made though and knurled. I like it. I had also read that the upside-down switches were only on early models, however someone had flipped the toggles over so that off is down, regardless of what the badge says...

    got this on marketplace a few days ago for 100.00. has some issues. freaking arc of shame, motor has to be spun by hand to start (capacitor maybe)? some runout in the spindle, hopefully just bearings🙏.

    bearings are usually standard sizes. I like to use US, german or japanese bearings.

    or it was replaced at one time. chances are it hasn't seen much use. if a drill press is owned by a hobbyist, then not many hours. think of how many minutes per week or month your drill press is actually running. now if it spent it's life in a commercial workshop, that's another matter.
