Electric boiler, 780sqft in slab, pressure wuestion

Thanks for the reply. I will lower the (on heat to 15psi) and I have expansion tank(15psi) and the air eliminator is a Spirotherm microbubble reabsorber. No leaks as far as I can tell. I will try to post a pic

Electric boiler, 780sqft in slab, pressure wuestion

I've been messing with this closed system for years. It always works (keeps 45deg in mn winter) and it has always had low nearly 0 pressure but it still seems to work. I decided to try to get 15psi. My fill pump seems to only get me to 10psi. But when it heat is on it gets to 22 psi. But when...

    Slab heat

I know there are so many posts about radiant slab heating, and reading all of it, gave me enough info to be dangerous. I'm in need of about a 10kw electric boiler(have 50amp 220 available) in MN, about 900 sqf spray foamed insul., 3 loops of 275 ft of 1/2" pex. No idea how to calc flow but have...

Radiant in slab heat- circ pump question

My question is whether or not to leave the circ pump running during non heat cycle( therm is satisfied) or to have the pump only circulate fluid when heater is on? 800sqft well insulated-although high ceiling- in MN- 3 loops of about 270 ft only want to maintain around 45 degrees. I may have...

Advice on running circ pump 24/7

Gentlemen, You helped me a ton running in floor heat using an electric on demand water heater, 3 zones and a circ pump. In heat mode(winter) I use a thermostat that controls the circ pump so that when flow is detected, the heater comes on until the set temp is acheived then the circ pump shuts...

More advice needed on radiant garage floor -sorry kind of long

Ok I found out the problem. It was the flow switch in the heater. I was able to adjust it ( the magnetic sensor can be adjusted) that it will sense flow at lower rates. I think it was on the edge of sensing flow.

More advice needed on radiant garage floor -sorry kind of long

Follow up after a winter of garage slab heat-sorry kind of long nks again for all the advice- I had a lot of issues as you can tell by the long thread. My system worked all winter despite a very difficult start up and my components not placed in the correct order. We had the coldest winter I...

More advice needed on radiant garage floor -sorry kind of long

Re: UPDATE on $$!!More advice needed on radiant garage floor -sorry kind of long Ok, I'm was afraid to get my Excel energy bill but it is here. Last month it was $95 and this month with starting up heater and heating slab twice from cold start it was $190. It ran straight for 4 days 2 times...

More advice needed on radiant garage floor -sorry kind of long

I can't disagree about the location of my components- oh well... I tried. I can fix that easy. I thought the same thing - (i.e. the heater would just try but fail to heat past a certain point but wouldn't just go into standby. But then I looked at the specs and out thought myself apparently -...

More advice needed on radiant garage floor -sorry kind of long

Well I'm learning as I go. First, I do have a spirovent air eliminator installed albeit it in the wrong location but it worked. When filling the system 50/50 mix a lot of air was coming out of the spirovent until the system was full then I burped the pres. relief valve a few times to get out...

good point about re configuring. I have it set to cycle based on air temp(thermostat). I don't have a slab sensor-

I agree with the previous post... I have learned so much on here... amazing- thanks all!!! I'm an exercise physiologist so if anyone needs any of that kind of help... it is the least I can do. I was fully aware that my heater was bottom of barrel but in reading/posting for info and doing some...

More advice needed on radiant garage floor -sorry kind of long

Well Im humbled....you guys know your stuff. I will change the location of my vent/exp tank. Now that I understand it makes sense. I will have to look up the other stuff you mentioned...$300 isnt too bad if it works more effectively/efficiently. Once again, thanks a ton. It is actually running...
